Today is the Samsung Galaxy S21 day for a multitude of markets as the phones go on sale in the US and Europe. The series starts at $ 800 for the base model, while the S21 Ultra retails at $ 1,199. Either way, they’re cheaper than last year’s S20 main units.

That asked us if Android Authority Readers had already pre-ordered a Galaxy S21 series phone or were planning to buy it at all. This is how you voted in our survey.

Are you thinking about buying a Galaxy S21 phone?

Results

We released the survey on January 26th, 2021 and asked readers if they pre-ordered a Galaxy S21 series phone, would like to buy one after the release, are thinking about buying, or if they are just not interested in the phones. At the time of writing, a total of 1,043 votes had been cast. 41% of respondents said they had pre-ordered Samsung’s new flagship.

The second most popular choice was “I’m not interested”. Almost 28% of those surveyed chose this option. Obviously, Samsung’s 2021 phones are not resonating with some people. Comments suggest that functional decisions (such as the lack of a microSD card slot) and financial reasons could be to blame.

A sizable number of voters (25%) are considering getting the phone, which could mean people are intrigued by the show, aside from a few major concerns. After all, only 6% of respondents said they’d want to buy a Galaxy S21 series phone after it was released.

Looking at these results differently, over 70% of surveyed readers said they either bought, are buying, or are thinking about a Galaxy S21 device.

Remarks

  • Patrick O’Neil: I’ll keep my S7 until the battery runs out. Then I can just replace the battery. 🙂 🙂
  • John Zilch: I would have already pre-ordered the S21 Ultra, BUT IT DOESN’T COME WITH AN SD CARD SLOT, SO BET SAMSUNG CURVED !!
  • x2ice25: The lack of an SD extension was not a problem for me. Samsung seems to forget that if you sell something that others (mostly Apple) don’t offer, people might consider your product, but now that the Samsung S21 has basically become an iPhone, I might as well be another brand rethink. SD expansion is the ONLY reason I never became an apple
  • Painfully_Candid: I suspect the pre-order numbers signal to Samsung that the S21 line is NOT overly popular. Seriously, as an S10 user, I don’t see enough reasons to upgrade to an S21. I would lose the microSD expansion and the headphone jack. Why give this up for more camera improvement and more performance improvement? I’m still waiting for a camera that is so good there is no competition. The S21 has shown that it is just one of the best.
  • Anthorama: They lowered the price of their line, the s21 is the same price as last year’s s20 5g or even cheaper. You will definitely sell more.
  • sonicsynth2000: Even with the insane trading of values at launch, I doubt a lot of people will get a flagship phone this year
  • Lamar Taylor: I pre-ordered the GS21 Ultra and it will arrive on Wednesday according to my FedEx tracking number. Samsung gave me a $ 700 loan, so at least I’m not paying close to full price.

That’s it for this Galaxy S21 series survey. Are you planning to buy one of the phones? Or maybe it doesn’t pique your interest? Anyway, let us know below!
