Yootech F500 Wireless Charger review: An inexpensive travel option

Once you get used to wireless charging your devices, wired reset feels dated. I charge almost everything wirelessly at every opportunity. This also applies to travel. While some wireless chargers like the Samsung Wireless Charging Stand and Native Union Dock Charger are meant to stay at home, there are tons of travel-friendly wireless chargers out there. One such option is the Yootech F500 wireless charger.

The Yootech F500 Wireless Charger is a great little charger. It’s small, affordable, and supports up to 10W wireless charging for your smartphone.

Information about this Yootech F500 Wireless Charger Test: We tested the Yootech F500 Wireless Charger test device over a period of several days with a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and an Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max. Android Authority bought the charger for the purpose of this review.

Yootech F500 Wireless Charger Review: What is it?

The Yootech F500 Wireless Charger is a charger. That is, it’s a little slice that lies flat. You put your phone on it to charge instead of standing it up. Stalls have their own appeal as you can use or display your phone frequently while it is charging. Charging pads, on the other hand, are basic in nature and focus on simply charging your device.

The F500 is a CD that looks almost like a small frisbee. There is a rubber ring at the top to stabilize your phone and a rubber ring at the bottom to stabilize the charger. A cool light runs around the outside edge of the charger. Don’t worry, it will only glow for 16 seconds the first time you put your phone on the charger. It turns itself off so as not to disturb your sleep.

Due to the small size, your phone will completely cover the charger when charging. I found it easy enough to center my device to initiate charging. The best thing about the size, however, is that it’s great for travel. The F500 easily fits in a backpack or handbag, so you can bring the luxury of wireless charging with you wherever you go.

The box contains the charger and a 1 m long USB-A to USB-C cable. There is no loading stone. We recommend that you use the charging brick that came with your phone.

How does it work?

The Yootech F500 wireless charger is based on the universal Qi wireless charging standard. It charges up to 10W for most Samsung phones, up to 7.5W for supported iPhones, and 5W for everything else. Yootech didn’t state why non-Samsung phones couldn’t take advantage of faster 10W charging.

The F500 quickly charged my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. The majority of the recent Samsung phones are inherently the fastest charging rate and outperform non-Samsung devices. The Grade 10 Plus achieved 14% in 15 minutes, 30% in 30 minutes, 58% in 60 minutes and a full charge in just over 100 minutes. The iPhone 11 Max Pro charges much more slowly due to the 7.5W limit. It took 65 minutes to reach a 50% charge and almost two and a half hours to get a full charge.

The F500 also works well with certain accessories. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Live and Apple’s AirPods Pro fit perfectly on the charging pad.

Should you buy the Yootech F500 wireless charger?

Yootech did an excellent job with the travel-friendly F500 Wireless Charger. The pad makes an excellent travel accessory due to its compact size. In addition, the batteries of Samsung phones are charged in no time at all. I wish there was a charging brick in it, but the device is so cheap that it’s hard to complain.

Amazon is selling the Yootech F500 wireless charger for $ 10.99. It’s about as cheap as a wireless charger. In other words, don’t buy just one, buy several.
