Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition launches to take on OnePlus TV 40Y1
Xiaomi has added a new, affordable Android TV to its portfolio. The Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition is a direct competitor of the OnePlus TV 40Y1, which was introduced a few days ago.
The new 40-inch Full HD Xiaomi TV has a frame-less design and a metal frame that surrounds the 60 Hz display. The company says the screen-to-body ratio is 93.7%, just like the OnePlus model.
In terms of software, the Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition runs immediately on Android 9. Xiaomi also puts its own PatchWall user interface on top of it for personalization, so you can use this or the standard Android TV user interface.

The sound of the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40 is processed by 20 W stereo speakers.
The port selection includes a 3.5 mm audio output, an optical audio port, an AV port, an Ethernet port, two USB ports and three HDMI ports. You also get 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity on the TV.
Under the hood are the Amlogic Cortex A53 quad-core processor and the Mali 450 MP3 GPU. These are accompanied by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage.
The TV also supports the Mi Quick Wake function, which allows you to watch your shows again in five seconds.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition price and availability
The Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition costs Rs 23,999 (~ $ 329). In comparison, the OnePlus TV 40Y1 with almost identical specifications costs a little less at 21,999 rupees (~ $ 301).
The new Xiaomi TV will be available from June 2nd through mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart, Mi Studio and retail partners.
