No question about it, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is an outstanding phone. The rear display is notable on its own as it helps you frame selfies and send notifications. But is all the early hype justified, or is Xiaomi just offering another high-end phone with a gimmick? Let us know in our poll below.
The Mi 11 Ultra is clearly a flagship of the class, even if you rule out that trick on the second screen. The phone has the practically mandatory Snapdragon 888 chip, a 6.8-inch 120 Hz OLED display, fast wired and wireless charging with 67 W and a sophisticated camera array with three 48-megapixel rear sensors and a 20 megapixel front camera. There is little or no compromise on performance, especially when competing devices often offer anemic secondary cameras.
The large 5,000 mAh battery and powerful 10 W reverse wireless charging also help Xiaomi. This is a device that not only can last all day but can also help a friend during a night (at least when nights are a thing again).
You will definitely get value for money. The base model’s 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage at 5,999 yuan (about $ 914) aren’t spectacular, but you probably won’t look for more unless you really want to – and it’s all too easy to find competitors like Finding the Galaxy S21 Ultra or Find X3 Pro, which add an extra cost for features you may not necessarily appreciate.
