Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite missed the global Mi 11 launch, but it’s still coming
- The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has gone through the Bluetooth SIG website.
- The shelf indicates support for Bluetooth 5.2 and global availability.
- Bluetooth 5.2 suggests that there will supposedly no Snapdragon 730 chip.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched in Europe yesterday (February 8th) and marks the flagship’s first foray outside of China. Rumors from people like Gizmochina also pointed to the arrival of the budget-conscious Mi 11 Lite model at the event, but it clearly did not happen.
Now, Xiaomi’s Lite phone has popped up on the Bluetooth SIG website, confirming that the device is indeed still in the pipeline. The list also repeats the previously discovered model number of the M2101K9AG, with the “G” at the end referring to a global / European device rather than a Chinese or Indian model.
Another detail that emerges from the Bluetooth SIG list is the support for Bluetooth 5.2. So we question rumors that the device could contain a chipset based on the Snapdragon SM7150 platform (Snapdragon 730 / 730G / 732G). This is because the processors mentioned above all don’t have Bluetooth 5.2 support and are ahead of the curve in Bluetooth 5.1 for the Snapdragon 732G.
This suggests that the Mi 11 Lite is likely to be an unannounced chipset in the family if it is actually using a processor based on the SM7150 platform. Another possibility on paper is that the global variant and the Indian variant differ in terms of chipset and / or cellular connectivity with a processor of the SM7150 series for the Indian model. Last year’s Mi 10 Lite offered 5G and used the Snapdragon 765G chipset. So it stands to reason that every 5G-capable Mi 11 Lite model would offer an updated chipset in this regard.
In any case, the Mi 11 Lite seems to be about to launch. We’ll probably see the phone in the coming weeks.
