Xiaomi debuts new Redmi Smart TV series models in India

Xiaomi already offers a relatively wide range of televisions in India, including models from the Redmi brand with 4K panels. However, it adds two new budget sets to its stable. Today the company presented the new Redmi Smart TV series in India, which offers two sets in 32-inch and 43-inch versions.
The 32-inch display offers 720p resolution, while its bigger brother ends up with a denser 1080p panel. Both sets contain Xiaomi’s Vivid Picture Engine algorithm to improve color reproduction, more precise control of image quality and hotkeys to jump from the Mi remote control directly into Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
Internally, the Redmi Smart TVs are powered by a quad-core chipset with an Arm Mali-G31 MP2 GPU connected to 1GB of RAM. You also get 8GB of internal storage for Android 11 TV apps. The two sets run Patchwall 4.0 Launcher with integrated IMBd rating support and more than 75 free live channels.

For audio, the 20 W speakers in the Dolby Audio, DTS HD and DTS Virtual X sets offer support for surround sound simulation.
The budget sets include two HDMI ports with automatic low-latency mode for gamers, two USB ports, an AV input, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an antenna screw and an Ethernet port for wired Internet. The sets also include dual-band WiFi support and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio. Miracast and Chromecast smarts are also provided.
Redmi Smart TV series: prices and availability
The 32-inch Redmi smart TV model will retail for 15,999 rupees (~ $ 217) while the 43-inch model will retail for 25,999 rupees (~ $ 353). Both sets will be available from September 28th through Amazon India.
