- Xiaomi has confirmed the launch date of the new Redmi Note 9 series.
- Three devices are expected to make their debut, with a 5G Pro version being the rumored headliner.
- The launch is scheduled for November 26th in China.
It is official. After months of speculation and name guessing, Xiaomi will introduce the new Redmi Note 9 series next week.
Xiaomi was officially announced in a Weibo post, confirming that three devices will be offered. The Chinese OEM also revealed the official physical design for at least one of the devices. It’s unclear if all three phones share this design.
However, expect at least one Redmi Note 9 model to have a circular rear camera array with four contactors. Color options include two shimmery surfaces – one gray-purple and one sky blue. The official rendering matches previous footage we saw from the phones on TENAA.
Beyond the render, Xiaomi resisted the temptation to tease additional specs. Longstanding rumors suggest that at least two of the three models will be equipped with 5G-enabled chipsets. A 4G version will also appear in China.
One model that is believed to be the new Redmi Note 9 Pro could be a redesigned Mi 10T Lite. This would give it a 6.67-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a Snapdragon 750G SoC, and a 4,820 mAh battery to power the lot. The smaller Redmi Note 9 option might have a 6.53-inch display, a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi has yet to justify these specifications or clarify the range’s monikers. However, we will learn more about these devices on November 26th at 8 p.m. CST (7 p.m. ET).
