You can now trade in your older Mi and Redmi phones in India for newer models and get up to 70% of their value back. Xiaomi has launched various buyback plans as part of a new Mi Smart upgrade program. Plans start at Rs. 399 (~ $ 5) and offer fixed buyback values if you upgrade your handsets to 15 months at any time after three months.
The repurchase value of your Mi and Redmi phones will change according to the different return periods. For example, if you trade in a Xiaomi Mi 10 for the next flagship between 91 and 180 days after purchase, you will receive an insured surrender value of 70% of the retail price.
The minimum guaranteed buyback value is 40% of the retail price if you exchange your phone between 13 and 15 months. You can review all surrender values and redemption deadlines for the Mi Smart Upgrade program below.

Xiaomi’s trade-in program is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Assured buyback program in India. The only difference is that the Samsung program is limited to flagship phones, while Xiaomi has also considered affordable Redmi devices.
