At its annual Worldwide developer conference On Monday, Apple launched a new home screen design for the iPhone iOS 14. The new home screen makes it easy to navigate all your apps and includes widgets.
Apple has added a new app library, an area at the bottom of your home screen where all of your apps are organized in a simpler and clearer view. All of your apps are automatically organized there, so you can get a better overview of what you’ve downloaded and hide the apps you don’t use often, although you can still find them later in the app library.
The list view also includes AI-based suggestions for the apps you are likely to want to use next.
The new iPhone home screen will also be included Widgetsthat let you see information like the weather at a glance on your home screen. Widgets contain more information and functions than simple app icons and have been an integral part of Google’s Android operating system for years.
Apple also adds a picture-in-picture video gesture so you can continue to watch a video or speak on a FaceTime call while accessing your apps. Drag the video to another part of the screen while switching between apps, zooming in and out, or simply tapping X to close it.
iOS 14 will be available later this year.
