2021 was a pretty interesting year for Samsung fans as the manufacturer is skipping the Galaxy Note series this year to bring the S Pen to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The only downside to this approach is that the S21 Ultra and the Z Fold 3 don’t have built-in slots for storing the S Pen. Instead, you’ll need to buy a separate phone case to store the pen in.
An integrated slot comes at a price, however, and the Note 20 Ultra demonstrated that well. The biggest cost factor seems to be the battery capacity, as the Note 20 Ultra offered a 4,500 mAh battery compared to the similarly sized 5,000 mAh battery on the S20 Ultra. Is that a compromise you want to make? Let us know via the poll below.
An integrated S Pen slot is not guaranteed to result in lower battery capacity, but the slot definitely takes up space in a phone design. And this space can actually be used for battery capacity, additional cameras (or larger sensors) and / or other components.
Nonetheless, if you’d like to compromise on that tradeoff via the survey above, please let us know. And leave a comment below if you have more to share.
