Would you buy Honor phones now that they’re regaining GMS?
We’re not sure you’ve heard it, but Huawei’s former Honor sub-brand has some good news to report. The new smartphone from the new independent company – the Honor 50 – will appear on the European market with Google apps and services on board.
Yes, Honor is finally joining the GMS Club again after losing the privilege due to the US ban on Huawei. Honor had to sell the mother ship for good in November last year so that the subsidiary could ensure its own survival.
Now that Google services and apps are back on new Honor phones, and the company has premium Snapdragon devices in the pipeline, it could regain its market position in regions like Europe and Asia.
One of the main reasons for Huawei’s demise, and therefore Honor, in these markets was the lack of Google services. As a result, the company lost significant market share to brands such as Xiaomi, Realme, and others.
With Honor phones regaining GMS, users can once again use Google’s apps, APIs, and cloud-based services such as Google Drive, Google Photos, and more.
With that in mind, we’d like to know if you’re going to be buying Honor phones again. Was the lack of Google services the only thing holding you back? Take our survey above and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
