Huawei has been through US sanctions for almost two years. One of the biggest side effects is that the recent phones don’t have Google integration.

This means that phones like the Huawei P40 series and Mate 40 series are missing Google Play Services, the Google Play Store, and a host of other Google apps. In particular, the lack of Google Play Services means that even some third-party apps (e.g. Uber, Snapchat) do not work properly.

However, there is a possibility that something will change with the Biden administration. New Commerce Secretary Candidate Gina Raimondo said she would “review the policy” and consult with lawmakers, allies and industry stakeholders as part of the process.

This suggests the possibility that Huawei sanctions could be lifted in some way. That asked us if Android Authority Readers would buy a Huawei phone again if Google support had access to all of the company’s devices. Give us your answer using the survey below and leave a comment too!
