Wonder Woman 1984 was postponed to October 2, 2020.

DC’s Wonder Woman film will finally hit theaters on October 2, 2020, the film’s director said on Friday night. The film with Gal Gadot as Diana Prince was postponed from August to October in another postponement by Wonder Woman in 1984 COVID-19.

The film was originally pushed back from December 2019 so as not to compete with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The release date for Wonder Woman on June 5 was then postponed due to the spread of the corona virus in March.

“I wish we shared our movie yesterday, but there are more important things in our world that we’d rather focus on for now,” tweeted Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman. “Many thanks to our fans for being so great on our side.”

The first trailer for Wonder Woman 2 was released on December 8th and shows the return of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Robin Wright as General Antiope. The new faces of Kristen Wiig as super villain Cheetah and Pedro Pascal as villain Maxwell Lord will also be featured in the sequel to Wonder Woman.

“The wait will be worth it,” Gadot promised in her own tweet on Friday evening.
