What to expect from the new budget star?

Ishan Agarwal Redmi 10 places

TL; DR

  • Specifications and renders of the Redmi 10 leaked online.
  • The specs show a phone with a 90 Hz display and a 50 MP main camera.
  • There is currently no information on pricing or availability.

Redmi number series is one of the most popular Xiaomi phone families that is part of the Redmi Note family but still offers a solid experience. The Redmi 9 was the latest release in that regard, but it looks like the Redmi 10 has now been leaked extensively.

In any case, the listing suggests that we are looking at two notable upgrades compared to the Redmi 9. For one, the main camera was upgraded from a 13 MP shooter to a 50 MP sensor. Presumably it is the inexpensive Samsung JN1 50MP camera (0.64 micrometer pixel). Otherwise, the rest of the rearview camera system has an 8MP sensor and a pair of 2MP shooters. An 8-megapixel lens in a centrally mounted punch hole processes selfies.

The other major upgrade is the change from a 6.53-inch 60 Hz (FHD +) LCD panel to a 6.5-inch FHD + LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. So if you have a smoother display If you are on a budget, this device should be kept in mind.

Otherwise, it looks like the rest of the Redmi 10 is similar to its predecessor. It is supposed to offer a Helio G88 SoC with a Mali-G52 MC2-GPU (so possibly just a small upgrade compared to the Helio G80), a 5,000 mAh battery and an 18 W fast charge. The phone is listed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but we can assume that this is just the top-end variant.

There’s no word on pricing or availability, but the Redmi 9 had an introductory price of around Rs 9,000 (~ $ 121) in India and € 149 (~ $ 175) in Europe. So we can expect a similar price window when the Redmi 10 hits these markets.
