It’s only been a few months since Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier last stepped into the ring at UFC 257. However, we always knew that a trilogy battle would be on the way if Poirier emerged victorious and the series would tie in with one. Now the two of them are back in action to settle the bill, and here’s what you should know about UFC 264.

What is UFC 264?

The upcoming July 10th event marks the next iteration of UFC’s pay-per-view promotion and is preparing to be a rubber match for the ages. While McGregor and Poirier attract the most attention, UFC 264 features a packed card. No.2 Gilbert Burns and No.4 Stephen Thompson are planned as a co-main welterweight event. Ex-NFL star Greg Hardy will also face Tai Tuivasa in hopes of breaking his record above .500.

In the women’s bantamweight division, Irene Aldana and Yana Kunitskaya will hit the mat with a potential championship bout against Amanda Nunes in mind. Number 7 Jessica Eye, who fought at UFC 257, will step back into the ring against number 4 Jennifer Maia. Check out the full map below if those battles aren’t reason enough to earn the PPV.

Now for the action we’ve all been waiting for – McGregor and Poirier, part three. In case you missed the first two fights, McGregor dominated UFC 178 en route to a TKO in the first round. Then Poirier literally struck back with a barrage of blows that cleared McGregor out of the way early in the second round. Now Poirier comes first in UFC 264 in the lightweight category, right behind champion Charles Oliveira. McGregor joins the class as a # 5 fighter hoping to be shortlisted for a shot at the champion.

Who else is on the menu?
