Rumors about Android 12 are steadily increasing. As the possible launch of the first developer preview approaches, we’ll get more insight into the future of Android phones.

Judging from the numerous leaks so far, we understand that Google has identified privacy, ease of use and aesthetics as key factors for improvement.

Recently released screenshots suggest that with a revamped privacy system, users can better control app permissions and app access to key sensors. Google is apparently also polishing its Android 12 UI, adding wider color palettes on themes that match the selected wallpaper. Adding ART as a mainline module also ensures that updates are distributed more smoothly between manufacturers. Improvements for gamers are also planned, while phones that are low on storage space may also get a helping hand.

These are just a few of the rumors set to make it onto Google’s next mobile operating system. But what are your impressions of Android 12 so far? Overall, Android 12 doesn’t seem like a revolutionary leap over its predecessor. While an iterative step might be considered a good thing, is this what Android users really want?
