Weezer’s “All My Favorite Songs” video is a Pixel 5 ad

  • The video for Weezer’s new single “All My Favorite Songs” contains heavily Google Pixel 5 smartphones.
  • Frontman Rivers Cuomo even uses the hotword “OK Google” while the Pixel 5 is clearly visible with its “G” logo.
  • The song is actually not bad either.

Los Angeles rock band Weezer has a habit of releasing many albums and music videos to promote these albums. Today the group cut their latest video effort for the lead single from their new record. The title of the track with the title “All My Favorite Songs” revolves around the simultaneous longing of frontman Rivers Cuomo to be social and withdrawn.

Oh yeah, and the video is basically a great advertisement for the Google Pixel 5.

All of my favorite songs (on my pixel phone)

While there is no announcement in the video or on the video’s YouTube page, it is most likely that Google sponsored the project. Not only do the band and the entire cast use Pixel phones, Cuomo even uses the hotword “OK Google” to record a video of bandmate Brian Bell. It’s a little too Google-hard not to get funding from the Big G.

Regardless, the music video is fun and the song is pretty good. The story revolves around two teenagers who don’t know each other but connect on the internet. However, the internet is magical and allows the two to physically enter the same room. The two then head to Weezer’s rehearsal room, where they find the band is busy with their Google Pixel 5 smartphones. Seriously.

Eventually everyone is on the phone and the senior teen escapes back to his room. All is not lost, however, when he gets to add the girl he met as a friend on social media.

The video is mirrored above for you to check out. “All My Favorite Songs” appears on Weezer’s fourteenth (!!!) album entitled OK Human. It lands on January 29th. Maybe Google helped fund the album name too?
