Watch Samsung show off Z-folding foldable design in new video
- Samsung Display has released a video that shows various concepts in action.
- The video shows a Z-fold foldable phone and other designs.
Samsung Display announced that it will be showcasing four nice concepts at SID Display Week this week, including a foldable, rollable, and more Z-fold. Now the company has highlighted all of these technologies in a YouTube video.
The video gives us a good idea of what to expect from the foldable in particular, and shows us how the folding mechanism works and what the device might look like in smartphone mode. We also see the device as a kind of smart alarm clock when paired with a stand. Check out the clip below.
We also get a good look at the other concepts of the company, e.g. B. a mobile phone and a laptop with a selfie camera under the display. However, Samsung Display also highlighted its previously announced 17-inch foldable screen, which actually appears to be a foldable laptop similar to the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold.
The video shows the lower half of the foldable 17-inch gamepad buttons in laptop mode, which when opened turn into a large screen. Presumably, Samsung would follow Lenovo’s lead by offering a keyboard accessory for a true laptop experience.
There’s no word on when any of these concepts might hit the market, but Samsung and its display arm first showed a foldable phone concept in 2011. Hence, it is possible that some of these concepts will not become a commercial reality for years.
