What is WandaVision and why is everyone so excited about this limited series? Here’s what we know so far (and we’ll avoid spoilers). You can sign up for Disney Plus at the link below:

What is WandaVision?

This is a nine-part limited TV series starring Elizabeth Olsen who repeats her role from the MCU films as the magical character Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. Also featured in it is Paul Bettany, who is back as the powerful Android named Vision. This is the first Marvel TV series to be produced directly by Marvel Studios and which has made all 23 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios is run by Kevin Feige and according to a new article by EW.comHe’s the one who came up with the basic idea for the series.

Is there a trailer for the series that reveals more of the story?

Yes. The first WandaVision trailer gives us some ideas about the plot of the show. It seems that Wanda and Vision are trapped in an ever-changing family TV sitcom that is evolving from the classic black and white TV shows to more modern series. There is evidence that Wanda used her powers to distort the reality around her and that she created a kind of pocket universe. Also, Vision died (or appeared to be permanently closed) at the end of the MCU movie Avengers: Infinity War. Why is he back with his love Wanda?

One interesting thing about the series, according to them EW.com Article is that the show filmed part of the sitcom sequences on stage in front of a live audience.

Who else is in WandaVision?

Three more characters who have appeared in other MCU films are back for WandaVision. One of them is Monica Rambeau, who first appeared as a child in the 1990s film Captain Captain. In the series played by Teyonah Parris, she grew up. In the trailer, it is apparently thrown into the air at great speed and then lands on the ground in a kind of military base.

In the Marvel Comic Universe, Monica Rambeau is indeed a powerful superhero. It can fly and turn into pure energy. She has had a number of superhero names over the decades, including Captain Marvel, Photon, Pulsar, and Spectrum. However, her role in Wandavision is still largely a mystery.

In addition to Rambeau, FBI agent Jimmy Woo, who first appeared in Ant-Man and The Wasp, is back and is again played by Randall Park. Kat Dennings, who played assistant scientist Darcy Lewis in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, will also return in the same role on WandaVision. Marvel Studios has not announced how these two characters will interact with the series.

Kathryn Hahn will also appear on the series. In the trailer, she seems to be a curious neighbor of Wanda and Vision. By doing EW.com Article, Hahn’s character is called Agnes. The trailer also features two more unnamed characters, played by Fred Melamed and veteran sitcom Debra Jo Rupp (That 70s Show, Friends).

Who writes and directs WandaVision?

While Kevin Feige came up with the first idea for the show, Jac Schaeffer is the lead writer of WandaVision, who also wrote the scripts for the MCU films Captain Marvel and the upcoming Black Widow. Matt Shakman, who has directed tons of episodic TV shows (Game of Thrones, The Boys, and many more) will direct all nine episodes of the series.

In addition, the theme song for the show, along with other original songs that will appear on the series, will be composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who also wrote songs for Frozen.

What is the WandaVision release date?

Disney Plus showed the series today, January 15, 2021, with the first two episodes. After that, the other seven episodes are released weekly, as are most of the service’s scripted shows.

What happens after the series ends?

Marvel Studios has already confirmed that Wanda will play a key role in the upcoming MCU sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Apart from further delays in Covid-19, this film is slated to hit theaters on March 22, 2022. It is likely that WandaVision will assist in creating the plot for this film.

Are there any more MCU TV shows coming on Disney Plus?

Bet there are some? WandaVision is just the tip of the iceberg for Marvel Studios and its plans for Disney Plus TV series. Six more live action shows as well as an animated series will come on service in the coming months.
