Walmart will soon open drive-in movie theaters
Walmart. What not Walmart sell or deliver? Well, soon it will offer a place of entertainment in the form of drive-in moving theaters.
Yes, the massive retail chain apparently plans to run drive-in theaters in its US super centers next month. This emerges from a teaser website that was published on July 1. Walmart followed the website with a tweet announcing the “selected” stores thanks to a partnership with Tribeca in drive-in cinemas. There isn’t much additional information, but these theaters will also offer popcorn and drink services on the car side.
Walmart did not immediately respond to a request for more information about the drive-ins.
These drive-ins will appear in the US as a “safe, socially distant” form of entertainment, the website says. Which films or shows the retailer wants to show is unknown. However, Tribeca’s drive-in initiative, which is set to launch in numerous regions of the United States, includes a lot of classic films like jaw and Back to the Future. Movies like Middle girls, Superbad and special live comedy events.
