I like to own films that I really love, that I like to watch again from time to time – especially when I can buy them for almost the same cost as renting them. This brings us to Vudu’s $ 5 movie sale, which is actually broken down into a few different sales. First: Action films for $ 4.99 each.
These are mostly from the Oldie But Goodie catalog, but take a look at some of these goodies:

- Die Hard
- Fight club
- Beginning
- speed
Next you can choose the Mix & Match: Cruise Control sale two Tom Cruise films for $ 9.99. Here you have the choice between all six Mission: Impossible Flicks, early hits like Top Gun and Days of Thunder as well as the generally underestimated Minority Report and War of the Worlds. Unfortunately missing: Edge of Tomorrow. (Note that some films, including the Mission: Impossible series, belong to Paramount, which like CNET is a division of ViacomCBS.)
Finally there is the Mix & Match: Bargains sale, with which you too Pick two tracks for $ 9.99. Some highlights are all three films by Night at the Museum, Liar Liar, The Italian Job and La La Land.

Here’s a repeat of a deal from a few months ago, one of the cooler things I’ve tried lately. There are five replacement covers for your sockets, each with a light sensor and LEDs. The nice thing is that there is no wiring: you simply replace one with an existing front panel and make sure that the contacts are correctly aligned with the screws of the socket.
However, it is difficult to say whether they actually work late into the night. Don’t be surprised if you cover the light sensor and don’t see the LEDs light up. But these are great little night lights for a hallway, a children’s room or something similar. Just make sure you choose the right style: square or rounded.
