- Vivo launched the V21 and V21 5G worldwide.
- The phone revolves around an optically stabilized 44 megapixel selfie camera.
- Otherwise, you’ll find modest specs like a 90Hz screen and a MediaTek chip.
Vivo is committed to bringing great camera technology into their phones, and that includes the latest in budget phones. The Chinese mobile giant has unveiled the Vivo V21 and V21 5G, both of which revolve around an unusually powerful selfie camera that may outperform your current phone.
The two V21 variants include an optically stabilized 44MP front camera, which, according to Vivo, delivers high-quality selfies using a “groundbreaking light sensor”. You can just take a nighttime selfie or a TikTok video that isn’t a blurry mess, to put it another way. An AI Night Portrait mode can be helpful when the hardware is insufficient.
Thanks to the combination of an optically stabilized 64MP main sensor as well as wide-angle and macro cameras, you can also expect competent photos from rear-view cameras on the Vivo V21.

Otherwise, Vivo has outfitted the V21 phones with decidedly budget-oriented specs. The MediaTek Dimensity 800U chip won’t make you rethink plans for buying a flagship phone, but the 90Hz AMOLED screen and 33W quick cable charging could make these devices more compelling. All details of the two models were not immediately available.
Android Authority At the time of this writing, I was still waiting for price and availability for the Vivo V21. You can find the V20 for under $ 300, however, so it shouldn’t be surprising if its sequel hits a similar price point. That could make it a good move over rivals like the Realme 8 5G, though it may not fare as well against a Snapdragon 765G rival like the OnePlus Nord.
