1. Doom Patrol (third season – 2021)
After debuting its first season on DC Universe and its second on DC Universe and HBO Max, Doom Patrol will return for the third time as an exclusive HBO Max game in 2021. The series focuses on the DC superhero team and is largely based on the comics by Grant Morrison. This team of outsiders with superpowers includes Robotman, who has a human brain in a metal body. There is also Crazy Jane, who has 64 personalities, each with their own superpower. You can now watch the first two seasons on HBO Max. It’s great stuff!

2. Titans (third season – 2021)
After two seasons on DC Universe, the third season of Titans will debut as an HBO Max exclusive in 2021. The teenage superhero team consists of Batman’s ex-partner Robin, the shape-shifting Beast Boy, the mystical raven, and the energetic Starfire. The team fought a number of enemies in its first season. They were joined by other minor characters from the comics, including Hawk and Dove, Wonder Girl / Donna Troy and even Bruce Wayne. Before the third season debut, the first two Titans seasons should be broadcast on HBO Max in the near future.
3. Harley Quinn (third season 2021)
One of the best DC Comics shows on HBO Max is an animated series. Harley Quinn is a very R-rated show starring popular sidekick the Joker. In this series, Harley, voiced by Kaley Cuoco, decides to embark on her own journey. As a result, she bumps into the heads with a range of DC superheroes and villains big and small. It’s really fun, but not suitable for the kids. After debuting on DC Universe, you can now watch the first two seasons on HBO Max. The third season will enter service in 2021.
4. Young Justice (fourth season – 2021)
This is a more traditional animated series for a younger audience. While the first two seasons of this youth-based super team were shown for the first time on the Cartoon Network, the third season debuted in 2019 in the DC Universe. Now season four has been given the go-ahead and will debut as an HBO Max Exclusive in 2021.
5. Zack Snyder’s Justice League – 2021
This is one of the most anticipated HBO Max original series of all. Co-writer and director Zack Snyder was forced to leave production of the Justice League live-action film before it was finalized due to a family tragedy. New recordings and rewritings of the film were carried out without his supervision. As a result, the movie released in theaters in 2017 wasn’t what Snyder had envisioned. After tremendous pressure from fans, Warner Bros decided to give Snyder one more chance to create his version of the film.
The result is called Zack Snyder’s Justice League (also known as The Snyder Cut). Many things that were shot for the original film but later edited are re-included for this version. New visual effects are added and even some new live action scenes are filmed. This is not just a remastered movie. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is first shown as four hour-long episodes on HBO Max before being turned into a massive four-hour film.
6. Green lantern
If you can forget that terrifying Green Lantern live-action film from 2011, look forward to this upcoming DC Comics show on HBO Max. Green Lantern is the “Space Cop” of the DC Universe. He protects the earth and the universe from cosmic threats. He does this with his green charged Power Ring, which can create almost any shape or object that he desires. Not much is known about this adaptation, but it is produced by Greg Berlanti, who is responsible for the many successful DC Comics shows on the CW network.
7. Untitled The Batman prequel
Director Matt Reeves is currently shooting The Batman, the latest live action feature film about the Caped Crusader. However, he is also developing a prequel series for HBO Max. It takes place in the first year of The Batman’s appearances in Gotham City and is focused on the police department as officers deal with the masked vigilante group, among other things.
8. Peacemaker
Peacemaker is another upcoming DC Comics show appearing on HBO Max and based on an upcoming Warner Bros. movie. That film is The Suicide Squad, in which John Cena will play the role of peacemaker, along with many others. While the film won’t be released until August 2021, the behind-the-scenes reaction to this violent superhero has been so good that HBO commissioned Max on a series that focused solely on Peacemaker. James Gunn, who wrote and directed The Suicide Squad, will write all of the episodes of Peacemaker and will also direct the pilot episode.
9. DMZ
Here’s another very different DC Comics show coming to HBO Max. It’s not a superhero series, but a show based on a comic from DC’s now-canceled Vertigo Comics series of mature series. It takes place in the near future where a second US civil war has broken out. It has turned the island of Manhattan into a demilitarized zone that lies between the government and secessionist forces.
Ava DuVernay, who ran the acclaimed Selma, directed the pilot for DMZ. It will show Rosario Dawson in the lead as a medic who travels to DMZ Island to try and help others. Benjamin Bratt is also one of the cast.
10. Justice League Dark
JJ Abrams and his Bad Robot team are responsible for developing this show for HBO Max. It is based on the Justice League spin-off comic featuring a team battling more supernatural opponents. In the comics, the team has included characters like John Constantine, Deadman, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, and even Wonder Woman. There is no word on which of these characters could appear on the show.
11. DC Super Hero High
DC Super Hero High will be a half hour live action comedy. The premise is that the younger versions of the classic DC Comics superheroes will all go to high school together. The series will show us these characters before they become the legends we know today. Elizabeth Banks will be the executive producer on the series.
12. Aquaman: King of Atlantis
This show will be a three-part animated series that focuses on the underwater superhero. The series is aimed at children and focuses on Aquaman’s first days at work as the king of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. James Wan, director of the live-action film version of Aquaman in 2018, will become executive producer on the series.
13. Strange Adventure
This series is another one produced by Greg Berlanti. Strange Adventures takes its name from one of the classic Silver Age DC Comics titles and will be an anthology series featuring a wide variety of DC Comics characters. Not much is known about this show at the moment.
So let’s check out the current list of upcoming DC Comics shows on HBO Max. We’ll update this post when there is more news about this series.
