Twitter labels Trump tweet for including ‘manipulated media’

Twitter hit another label on one of President Donald Trump’s tweets on Thursday, this time titled “manipulated media.” The tweet contained an edited video with a fake CNN ticker that said, “Scared toddler runs away from a racist baby.”

After this section of the video, it jumps to “What Actually Happened” – the two boys hurry to each other and hug. The video ends by pointing out that “false news” is responsible for the fault Race inequality debate It happens in the United States.

“This tweet was tagged according to our synthetic and manipulated media policy to provide more context for people,” said a Twitter spokesman in an emailed statement referring to his policy.

CNN responded to Trump’s tweet with a link to its original story about the two hugging toddlers’ viral video, noting that it “covered the moment as it happened”.

“We will continue to work with facts instead of tweeting fake videos that exploit innocent children,” she wrote. “We invite you to do the same. Be better.”

Trump’s campaign manager also weighed in to tell Twitter that the “days are numbered”.
