Twitch taps experts and creators for a new Safety Advisory Council

Twitch is a popular platform for gamers who want to share their play-throughs and connect with an audience. However, open platforms for user-created content require solid moderation guidelines. Now Twitch is trying to support things on this front a new security advisory board Consisting of online security experts and the developers of the platform.
“When developing this council, it was important to us to involve both experts who can offer an external perspective and Twitch streamers who understand the unique challenges and viewpoints of the creators,” it said Twitch’s announcement of the new advice. “Each member of the council was carefully selected based on their familiarity with the Twitch community and their relevant personal and professional experience.”
The eight-member security advisory board advises Twitch on the following topics:
- Draft new policies and policy updates.
- Development of products and functions to improve security and moderation.
- Promote healthy streaming and work-life balance habits.
- Protection of the interests of marginalized groups.
- Identify new trends that could impact the Twitch experience.
Twitch has experienced a fair share of abuse in recent years.
