TL; DR
- New details about the Xiaomi Mi 11T have been leaked.
- The phone may have a MediaTek chipset, a 64 MP triple rear camera, and a 120 Hz display.
- It reportedly shares key specs with the China-exclusive Redmi K40 Ultra.
New details of the rumored Xiaomi Mi 11T and the Redmi K40 Ultra have leaked and shed light on the phones’ displays, cameras and chipsets.
According to the XiaomiUI Telegram group, the Mi 11T is identified by its code name Amber and the model number K11R. It comes with a 120 Hz 20: 9 display, which would be a small step down from the 144 Hz screen found on the Xiaomi Mi 10T series. Xiaomi could, however, replace the Mi 10T’s LCD with an OLED panel.
The Mi 11T can include a 64 MP sensor made by OmniVision in its primary shooter. It can be supported by an 8MP Sony IMX355 wide-angle camera and a “Telemacro” shooter with 3x zoom.
Internally, we’re looking at an unnamed MediaTek chipset. Considering that the Mi 10T uses the Snapdragon 865 SoC, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Mi 11T is also equipped with MediaTek’s flagship hardware, namely the Dimensity 1200.
Redmi K40 Ultra: China’s Mi 11T?
The leak suggests that the Mi 11T will also land in China under the Redmi K40 Ultra banner. This phone, codenamed Agate with the model number K11T, may share the display specifications with the Mi 11T. However, there will reportedly be a notable camera buff. Instead of the 64-megapixel sensor, the K40 Ultra can use a 108-megapixel HM2 sensor in its headliner camera. The K40 Ultra will also reportedly share the Mi 11T’s wide-angle and tele-macro shooters.
As far as the chipset is concerned, the current devices in the Redmi K40 series all have Snapdragon 888 SoCs. However, this leak suggests that the K40 Ultra will opt for MediaTek hardware instead. Especially since January, rumors have been circulating about a Redmi phone powered by MediaTek.
It is worth noting that XiaomiUI does not have an absolutely flawless record in terms of tips. It captured the details of Redmi Note 8 2021 just right and gave the Mi Pad 5 reliable context before launch. However, we recommend that you enjoy these specifications of the Mi 11T and K40 Ultra with caution.
It is unclear when the Xiaomi Mi 11T or Redmi K40 Ultra will debut. But considering the Mi 10T was outed in October 2020, we could only be a few months away.
