Tokyo Game Show 2020 cancels physical event amid coronavirus pandemic

The Tokyo Game Show 2020 is the last event can be canceled in the middle of Corona virus Pandemic. The annual video game show won’t have a physical event this year, the organizers said on Friday, despite planning an online alternative.
“Due to the worldwide outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the still unpredictable situation in Japan, the organizer and the co-organizers made this decision after long deliberation to give health priority and the safety of visitors, exhibitors and interest groups,” TGS organizers said in a publication.

Other important video game events, including E3 and GDC, have also canceled their plans for this year or just want to hold digital conferences. The COVID 19 outbreak has got the big year for games under control. Microsoft and Sony are both expected to release new consoles — the Xbox Series X. and the PlayStation 5each – for the Christmas shopping season 2020.
TGS generally offers new trailers, announcements and release dates and should attract more than 250,000 attendees this year. Last year it brought us new trailers for Death Stranding and the Final Fantasy 7 remake.
The online event will take place from September 24th to 27th. More details will be released later in May.
