This weird smartphone has 8 cameras, 2 on each corner
- A Chinese tech company has patented a phone design with eight cameras, two on each corner.
- The device has a frameless appearance with no front camera, notches or holes.
- Admire it only for its unique and unusual design.
How many cameras can you fit on one smartphone? If the recent past has taught us anything, there are as many answers as an OEM wishes. But where they put these cameras has never really been a point of contention. Primary cameras on phones are usually clustered in a corner or in the center above, no matter how many they are. But not on this phone.
Revealed by people at LetGoDigitalThis Chinese smartphone has a total of eight rear cameras, two on each corner of the phone. Talk about the ready-to-use smartphone design.

The device in question is not in production or on the way. It’s just a design patented by component manufacturer Lens Technology. The company usually supplies smartphone parts to brands like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. It’s unclear why the company is patenting a smartphone design if it isn’t for making phones.
Even so, the unusual phone has a bezel-less display with a physical button below. No front camera is visible, while the rear, as mentioned earlier, has two cameras at each corner with a flash in the middle of all four camera bodies.
Unfortunately, the design is limited to just that. There is no mention of how these oddly placed cameras are used or why there is such a large gap between the modules. In any case, it is fascinating to see companies experimenting with newer concepts, even if they are as strange as they come. I think we’ll have to wait and see if this design stands the test of time and makes it into an actual phone.
