This is your clearest look yet at LG’s rotating Wing 5G phone

Believe it or not, there’s more of the LG Wing’s rotating phone to be seen ahead of its official debut on September 14th. The well-known leaker Evan Blass has published a series of renderings of the “LG Wing 5G” on his Patreon, which offer the clearest look on the experimental phone.
The front is now very familiar after a series of leaks, although on the back it is reported that LG tweaked key parts of its user interface to match the twisted handset. It’s certainly a clearer picture than the videos and abstracts from before. This is also a good (if nondescript) look at the back of the LG Wing 5G. This may also be a more powerful camera phone than the Velvet. There’s a noticeable bump on the back with three Galaxy Note 20-style cameras, although we wouldn’t expect similar performance.
The pictures do not give a great indication of the technical data. However, the presence of Qualcomm’s 5G sticker confirms that the Wing will use an upper-midrange Snapdragon 765G to offer next-generation wireless devices while keeping costs down. Earlier rumors suggested a 6.8-inch main screen with a significantly smaller second panel.

It is still not certain when the wing will hit stores or how much it will cost. As the first Explorer Project phone, however, we expect a premium. The bigger question may be availability by country. While South Korea will likely get the wing right from the start, it is not certain that the phone will be widely available.
However, as we said earlier, commercial success isn’t necessarily the main point. The Wing is more about pushing the boundaries of phone design and seeing what works – high demand would be just a welcome bonus.
