Redmi K40 Series 1 TENAA Composite

  • Pictures of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 series have appeared online.
  • The pictures show two phones that look very identical.
  • The pictures also show a camera body that appears to be similar to the Mi 11.

Xiaomi’s Redmi K series has quickly established itself thanks to its combination of high-end specifications and affordable prices. The upcoming Redmi K40 series is expected to be at the party later this month, but you don’t have to wait until then to take a look at the devices.

Images of the apparent Redmi K40 and K40 Pro have surfaced on China’s TENAA website (via the Weibo Tipster Digital Chat Station), but we’re not entirely sure which model is the standard model and which is the Pro variant. Check out the pictures at the top of the article and below.

Either way, the quad camera body is the most noticeable feature of both devices. While it does offer a slight bump, it also appears to be a variation on the Xiaomi Mi 11’s camera body, suggesting that this will be a theme for Xiaomi in 2021.

Other notable design details seen in the pictures include center-mounted hole punch cutouts (more noticeable if you adjust brightness and contrast in a photo editing app), flat panel displays, and the usual on / off buttons on the right.

Tipster Digital Chat Station also claimed that both phones have FHD + screens, as opposed to the Mi 11’s WQHD + (3,200 x 1,440) screen, which would be an understandable move as the Redmi K series is compared to the Mi 11 Flagship generally restricts some features in order to achieve a lower price.

In terms of pricing, Redmi GM Lu Weibing has already confirmed that the series will start at 2,999 yuan (~ $ 466) compared to 3,999 yuan (~ $ 621) for the Mi 11 base in China. Presumably, the basic Redmi K40 does not have a Snapdragon 888 chipset.

These aren’t the only Redmi phones we should expect in the near future as Xiaomi has also confirmed that there is a gaming phone with Dimensity 1200 power supply on the go. In addition, the Redmi Note 10 series will be launched in India next month. Which Redmi phone are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the poll above!
