This could be our first look at the Moto G10 Play
- Leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer rendered the Moto G10 Play.
- The improvements include a new side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a repositioned camera cutout.
Motorola didn’t release the Moto G9 Play until August, but it looks like the company is already preparing a successor to the budget device. On Monday morning, frequent leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer announced the rendering of a new phone, the XT-2117. He believes Motorola will be marketed as the Moto G10 Play. Understandably, not much seems to have changed between the two devices.
Like the Moto G9 Play, the XT-2117 also has a 6.5-inch display with plenty of chin bezel. The new phone measures 165.3 x 75.4 x 9.2 mm. While this doesn’t exactly match the G9 Play, the two more or less share the same footprint. We can see major changes in the camera section that Motorola has moved to the left side of the display. Another notable change is that the fingerprint sensor is now on the side of the device rather than the back.

We know from the TÜV Rheinland certification of the XT-2117 that the phone has a 4,850 mAh battery. That said, it has a slightly smaller battery than the Moto G9 Play, which comes with a 5,000 mAh cell. Beyond that, we don’t know much about the phone. Hemmerstoffer didn’t have many other details to share on the XT-2117. However, he believes Motorola will be announcing the phone in the next few weeks so we will likely learn more about it soon.
