- OnePlus has revealed the winning feature ideas from fans.
- These ideas will be implemented in future releases of Oxygen OS.
OnePlus was previously looking for feature ideas from fans that would allow enthusiasts to shape the future of Oxygen OS to some extent. The company’s last crowdsourcing round started in September and the winning ideas have now been announced.
OnePlus visited its official forum to reveal the ideas it adopted, from having a Frames Per Second (FPS) counter in the Game Space to partial screenshot capabilities and more. You can check out the full list of ideas below.
- Add an FPS counter option to the game space
- Separate volume for each app and enable dual media playback
- Customization of the lock screen (e.g. clock, shortcuts, etc.)
- Wireless file transfer from PC to OnePlus device and vice versa
- Power Diet (i.e., ultra power saving mode)
- Dark mode is black instead of gray, or an option for both
- Partial screenshot
We have already seen some of these features on other phones, such as: B. an FPS counter (gaming phones), a separate volume for each app (Xiaomi), some screenshots (Oppo, Realme) and more aggressive energy-saving modes (Samsung, HTC, Huawei). However, these are welcome additions to Oxygen OS.
There’s no word on a release timeline for these features, but we’ll probably have to wait for the next big Oxygen OS update to see them all.
OnePlus also revealed a list of feature ideas that the brand didn’t adopt. These rejected ideas include a desktop mode, back-tap gestures like iOS 14 and early Android previews, a solution to prevent screen burn-in, and battery status information.
