The Top 22 AI Tools for Marketers
In 2024, artificial intelligence (AI) is top of mind for marketing professionals. According to our third edition of the State of AI report, 95 per cent say that AI tools significantly help them reduce their time spent on manual tasks and instead focus on the most impactful, meaningful areas of their role.
Thankfully, even if you’re not an AI expert, there are plenty of AI marketing tools for people who may not be familiar with AI to start becoming accustomed to.
And as a content marketer, I’m grateful for all the ways that AI tools help me complete back-office work that’s slow, tedious and banal, like outlining long-form content, keyword research for SEO, email marketing campaigns and more.
Nevertheless, not all AI tools are created equal, which is why I have scoured the web to come up with this list of the best 22 AI tools marketers should use to make life easy for them.
The Benefits of Using AI in Marketing
Created by the company OpenAI, by November 2022 the text-generating system ChatGPT had amassed millions of users in just a matter of weeks.
And, given the huge wave left by the launch of ChatGPT, it’s safe to assume that AI has indeed started to have a financial impact on the marketing job, too. At least, according to a study from the University of Pennsylvania, the ‘impact on jobs may be substantial – as many as 19% of workers may see at least 50% of their tasks impacted’.
The key word in that statement, though, is impacted.
For me, that process means that marketers who learn to complement their skillset with AI-powered tools will ultimately benefit from higher-performing campaigns.
I rely on AI in my day-to-day workflows already. But that doesn’t mean that AI is writing my articles – not even this one (100 per cent hot and steamy human composition!).
But writing boring emails, editing photos, converting articles into social copy, and researching new topics are just a few of the many tasks AI can help with.
Beyond that, we have team members that are standing alongside them and leveraging AI or leveraging skill sets that are not their own, naturally.’ I asked Kaitlin Milliken at HubSpot for a concrete example.
‘We had a large piece of work we did where we uploaded image files from .png to .webp on thousands of pages. I knew this would take forever to do with my hands or GUI, but AI allowed me to build a Python script that could run that job.’ Milliken is a senior program manager for the company.
“I don’t even know how to code in Python!”
There’s still tremendous headroom in today’s AI tools. Yet ones that already exist can shave days off timeframes and lower the cost of lifting for completing more complex tasks, all while running 24 hours a day with no downtime.
22 AI Tools for Marketing You Should Know About
I’ve often found that most marketers understand the content generation capabilities of AI.
But they don’t know about all the other things it can do for them. I don’t think AI is particularly good for creativity when it comes to making content, because I wasn’t creative enough to write boring stuff in the first place.
Mundane marketing tasks I have to do includes writing emails and email templates, repurposing content, entering customer service requests, and writing a press release.
And so I began to search for AI tools that could help not just with content marketing, but with the day-to-day work of the marketer herself.
So, without further ado, here’s the list I assembled of the AI marketing tools for every conceivable “boring” marketing task.
1. HubSpot
Try out HubSpot’s AI for free.
- Price: Free
- Best for: Creating content
- What it does: Hubspot’s AI Assistant is a suite of AI-powered features that help you plan, create, and share remarkable content quickly.
And creating content is hard work, and creating content for an entire organisation requires a lot of effort.
Our writing assistant makes content creation easier by writing and sharing great content. It works with every HubSpot tool.
I can write blog posts, marketing emails, landing pages and more using HubSpot’s AI Assistants tool, with the ability to switch between those platforms and our conversation intelligence platform without having to leave.
Just perhaps I’m a little biased, but my own personal favourite on the list (for content-generation AI, at least) is HubSpot’s own AI Assistant, which is free to use, fast, and requires literally zero training.
Here’s what I love: HubSpot’s AI Assistants can help you optimise for SEO, from coming up with blog ideas enriched with SEO data, to generating SEO-optimised outlines, content and meta descriptions.
2. Campaign Assistant
Try out Campaign Assistant for free.
- Price: Free
- Best for: Creating engaging copy
- What it does: Generates engaging landing pages, marketing emails, and ad copy for Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
My favourite feature of Campaign Assistant is that it provides a short description of the campaign objective, target customer, and personal tone desired.
Use Campaign Assistant to quickly create compelling copy for a range of marketing assets so that you can quickly scale your marketing campaigns.
Its prebuild integration with HubSpot means you can create a new landing page or marketing email in your account just by tapping a link and pasting in the AI-crafted copy. That saves even more time.
What you will love: Campaign assistant can result in intriguing and clickable copy in your language of choice.
2. Jasper.ai
- Price: Plans start at $40 per month.
- Best for: Content creation and ideation
- What it does: Jasper.ai’s platform is capable of just about everything you’d hope a good writing assistant should do, short of going on a coffee run.
With Jasper.ai’s GPT-3-powered dashboard, you can simply write, hit a few buttons and, before you know it, you will have fresh ideas, a first draft, and even an edited final. You can choose templates for social, PPC, blogging, and more.
What I love: I love that Jasper.ai lifts that dull burden to sift through your writing to see if you’ve said what you mean, and in the way you wanted to. Learning to insert prompts that work to get the exact result you want takes practice, but Jasper.ai is a great tool for vanquishing the blank page.
Remember: As with so many of the AI-generated writing services on the market these days, Jasper is founded on GPT-3. The more it is used, the more natural its text will become.
3. Howler AI
- Price: $8,000 per month
- Best for: Targeted campaigns for press releases
- What it does: Sifts through a database of journalists to find those that fit your industry and niche based on what they’ve written or published about before.
What marketing exercise is more tedious than the search for a journal to send out press releases to, and then knowing that editors’ mailboxes are crowded with pitching, so you’ll want to follow up copiously anyway?
I like that Howler.AI makes it more likely that your email won’t do the junk pile trip by optimising it for a particular journal, just as a similarly hyper-targeted approach can tilt your pitch to make sure you’re aligned with the audience a journalist already has.
All these reasons and more are why Howler.AI is my number one candidate AI tool to filter press releases and the follow-up emails they spawn.
It’s pretty expensive… but if you’re in an industry that does a lot of press releases, this thing will save you an infinite amount of time.
And what I love: Howler AI will help you write and refine your pitch to make it irresistible.
4. Bardeen.ai
- Price: Free forever plan; Professional plan starts at $10/month.
- Best for: AI marketing automation
- What it does: Bardeen helps streamline your workflow with AI, whether you need to keep your CRM clean and updated, personalize outreach campaigns, or synchronize data across various tools your internal team uses.
When you use Bardeen, a proprietary AI workflow automation tool built on neural networks, you’re putting your faith in a deeper future. This automated future will make creating bots as easy as sending a text to a friend. Bardeen and other companies like them have no use for Amara’s Law. A company like Bardeen automates knowledge work, revealing where AI can accelerate workflows by anticipating tasks and proceeding without direct commands.
Everything from email scheduling and automated sales follow-ups on cold leads to scheduling outbound calls can be automated using Bardeen’s features and it’s integration with popular CRMs like HubSpot, as well as more than 100 other tools.
Robert Cials-What I love: Bardeen helps companies of all sizes to improve their marketing and sales automation ROI using AI technology. Side-wide, there are thousands of out-of-the-box automation templates. In addition, users can build their own custom automations.
5. LiveChatAI
- Price: Free versions are available. Plans start at $39 per month.
- Best for: AI chatbot for customer support queries
- What it does: Create a custom AI chatbot trained with your own data to manage your conversations.
If you want to refocus your business activities to be more effective, let LiveChatAI do customer supports for you.
With this software you can respond to customer queries in a timely manner by training your own AI chatbot with your data. You can either focus on leads generation or build operational support teams dedicated to ongoing and efficient support operations.
I also appreciate LiveChatAI’s integration with WhatsApp and Slack leading, which allows you to share with your team when a conversation is happening, so it’s not only on one place.
Moreover, should you wish to speed up your Turing-test actions, You can employ options such as Make.com, Open API and webhook.
What I like about it: Humanising your LiveChatAI sounds more reasonable with LiveChatAI’s new Amazon.com ‘Artificially Intelligent Assistant Representation’ (AIAAR) feature; A human messaging and queuing process can run alongside LiveChatAI, and when humans are available your customer will know automatically.
6. involve.me
- Price: Plans start at $29 per month.
- Best for: Lead generation
- What it does: Creates all kinds of embeddable forms, surveys, and quizzes with AI.
Marketers generate online quizzes, forms or surveys to extract information (such as email addresses or ratings), to hold an event or for interaction.
Before, this required us to code; now we just type up a short prompt that outlines what you’d like the online form to do.
Involve.me will then deliver the form to you, already successfully formatted on your site with your website’s colours, logo and font.
After creating the form, users have the choice between several layout options for their form or can edit it with the no-code drag-and-drop editor.
I’ve been very happy with survey and quiz creation as a lead-gen tactic, and it’s super easy to get them on your site via involve.me.
My choice for the best option for building forms, with the lowest price and the easiest integration, is involve.me.
What I love: involve.me has this AI feature to personalise based on input users provide as they go through the page, and it also produces detailed reports based on exhaustive open feedback users provide using the form. Which could save you hundreds of hours if you work with much data.

In fact, 6Sense has been a player in the intent data field for some time, using AI to surface insights among every data signal of intent so your team is focused on the highest-value activity at that precise moment.

11. Drift
- Price: Plans start at $2,500 per month.
- Best for: Conversational marketing
- What it does: Turns the choose-your-own-adventure chatbot experience into an interactive support and lead generation tool.
Drift has trained its AI to respond to human queries, and has integrated it into its chatbot experience.
That way, if a user has a question that’s not covered by that particular path, they’ll get an answer or at least be passed directly to a person.
I use the AI chatbot tool Drift myself on my site and have it set up as a screening tool for customers visiting my site and inching closer to asking for a quote.
You do have to build Drift by asking the questions and entering the answers you want it to ask, so the more complex your industry, the more complex your set up will be.
Drift is my top pick if you need an AI chatbot assistant.
What I like: AI from Drift has the potential to provide a white glove level of service to star accounts or for a support team to take brainless questions off of their hands.
12. Zapier
- Pricing: Free plans are available. Paid plans start at $19 a month.
- Best for: Text parsing
- What it does: Connect your apps to automated workflows, saving your team time so you can focus on growth.
This tool is ideal for creating scale for entrepreneurs – allowing you to digitise tedious tasks and make them run on autopilot. For marketers that might mean moving contacts into email lists and setting off marketing workflows.
I also like that, in addition to the webhook, Zapier can turn text-based input–from emails, Slack messages, Tweets, or literally whatever your form can harvest–into data and answer certain questions. Simple questions. Such as routing hand-raisers from a Contact Us form to a person or lead routing. The amount of manual work that Zapier can make go away is substantial.
What we love: Through automated text analysis, marketing teams also can parse large pools of text and end up with valuable information from customer feedback that humans might miss.
13. Brand24
- Price: Plans start at $69 per month.
- Best for: Social listening and sentiment analysis
- What it does: Sifts through massive amounts of information generated on public platforms, whether that’s social media or forums. Provides organizations with a dashboard that analyzes everything from mentions, the volume of discussion, and overall brand sentiment.
Customers today expect brands to respond quickly on social media.
The problem is, if an organisation has a presence on every major social media site, there will be too much data for it to be able to track every comment, mention and trending topic – and pick up the signal from the noise.
The triumph is interference; the destruction is derailment I reckon you’d be hard-pressed to beat Brand24, if part of your remit is sorting through the clamour to identify those discussions that your community management, evangelists or even social media engagers should notice.
What I like: Brand24 insights can help you improve your campaign and even the product itself.
14. MarketMuse
- Price: Free. Paid plans start at $149 per month.
- Best for: Content strategy and planning
- What it does: Analyzes your website and uncovers top opportunities in search, helping surface gaps in your content.
While the length of time your content engine has been operating will affect the size of the universe of pages on your site, for some publishers, the amount of content is so large that it becomes a time suck to perform audits in an effort to address low-value issues rather than focus on creating better content that readers want. With MarketMuse, you have the insights to make a better investment.
After looking at my content for an opportunity, I could use MarketMuse for the blogs and content I already have that it spits out that has the keywords I need to target – and that narrows it to which blogs I need to refresh and where I should spend more time in.
What I like about this: If you’re not sure what keywords your article is for, and how to structure it to be found on search engine result pages, MarketMuse will help you identify such potential.
15. Semrush
- Price: Plans start at $119.95 per month.
- Best for: Search Engine Optimization
- What it does: Helps generate content and ensure your writing is optimized for SEO.
For years, Semrush has been a solid choice for managing keyword targeting for SEO and AdWords campaigns. Now SWA puts AI to work on Semrush’s already formidable machine, making it easier than ever.
In my case, I use Semrush in building backlinks (one of the time-consuming marketing tasks) and in analysing my competitor’s seo methods.
If you can’t afford something like BrightEdge, it certainly doesn’t hurt for the budget-conscious SEO to look at Semrush as something like a bright replacement of an AI SEO tool.
What I like: SWA does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a writing assistant with a search-optimisation filter.
16. Crayon
- Price: Pricing is available upon request.
- Best for: Competitive intelligence
- What it does: Automatically gathers and organizes data from millions of sources to help you track industry trends.
Like Semrush, Crayon has been a pioneer in this space for years. More recently, Crayon has leveraged AI to sift through hundreds of millions of data points from hundreds of sources across the web, helping you increase your competitive edge.
For users, this is where Crayon’s AI and machine learning come in to decide what is key information or noise when it comes to your competition.
It’s nice that Crayon tracks SEC filings, price changes and messaging pivots, but narrows it down to the key bits that you can share.
What I love: You can snorkel on competitor’s breadcrumbs. Crayon provides a graphical view of your competitors’ digital footprints.
17. Lavender
- Price: Pricing starts at $29 per month.
- Best for: Email training
- What it does: Plugs directly into your email platform of choice and suggests how to improve email content to drive more replies.
The Lavender plug-in will do it for you if you need to rewrite an email (an internal memo, a pitch for journalists – whatever) to suit its audience. If you’re already done with your first draft, and you’re just trying to make it as good as it can be, Pavlina will still come in handy.
And marketers at your company can also benefit from a whiff of lavender to help them craft copy personalised to a prospect, such as account executives and sales development representatives.
I particularly like the mail feature because is very laborious to elaborate sales collateral and Lavender can save time from this task.
What I [like|adore|avour]: Lavender plucks your leads’ news, data and insights, then helps you send targeted, timely messages so you can convert.
18. Braze
- Price: Pricing is available upon request.
- Best for: Customer intelligence
- What it does: Integrates with all your data sources (CRM, MAP, etc.) and looks for signals that a customer might be at risk for churn or shows interest in potential upsell opportunities. Suggests potential messaging strategies to use based on that same data.
Many organizations have been laser-focused on customer retention.
Braze helps small teams save thousands of hours of analyzing data to determine what customers want – whether that’s another new feature, or more hands-on account management.
Often, churn signals are hard to see. I love that Braze lets your sales team refire prospects at with marketing content, customer support, and more.
What I like: Braze can also be used by marketing to create targeted offers based on data. You can also A/B test your campaigns to see whether they have any impact on sales.
19. Axiom.ai
- Pricing: Plans start at $15 a month.
- Best for: Automation of repetitive tasks
- What it does: Automates scraping and interacts with websites in simple ways that previously required a person.
Unlike Zapier, Axiom.ai is classified as a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) – a process flow automation tool.
Axiom.ai can automatically extract information or perform rudimentary tasks. Your team can find data through Google Trends, automate clickstreams to websites and app stores, and build bots.
It really can do most of the work, the grunt work, of dull marketing stuff And at such a low cost, Axiom.ai is my first choice AI tool to automate.
What I love: Axiom can scrape websites for data, extract information from files, or perform other simple user interface actions.
20. Hemingway
- Pricing: $19.99
- Best for: Content editing
- What it does: Analyze your content and suggest where you could make it clearer, more concise, or improve your diction.
As Strunk and White counsel, when you’re writing, you should omit needless words. But we need some help: which ones?
Hemingway highlights at the sentence level where AI and machine learning models are prompting you to take advantage of an opportunity to make your writing that much better.
One of the things I like about Hemingway: it gives you a readability score on the side, and you can see the cumulative impact of your writing.
21. Grammarly
- Pricing: Free basic tool or $12 USD a month for Premium
- Best for: Content editing, grammar, and AI writing
- What it does: Spell-checks, grammar checks, offers different tones for writing, and more.
Grammarly is a grown-up Hemingway and more. It is a cross between the infinite gaming universe and deterministic chaos. The interface is an intuitive toolbar plug-in for Firefox, Chrome and all major web browsers.
Grammarly has been my go-to tool for years and, if you only tick off one item on this list for content marketing success, it needs to be this.
One reason I’ve stuck with it for so long is its grammar is that, frankly, their grammar and spell check is unparalleled.
Your blog will look and sound professional as long as you strive to get your writing to at least 99.99999999 per cent purity.
And I started with the free version of Grammarly before upgrading to Premium, and I’ve found it worth it.
Because now I have suggestions provided by Google Docs and I can use the AI content creator.
What I love: Grammarly gives you professional writing-level grammar, spelling, and tone suggestions.
22. CallRail’s Conversation Intelligence
- Pricing: $85/month
- Best for: Call recording, transcription, and summaries
- What it does: Analyze all your calls, all the time, turning your conversations into easy-to-act-on data.
By drawing on an AI trained with more than 650,000 hours of vocal data, Conversation Intelligence automatically transcribes and analyses your inbound and outbound phone calls.
It almost matches human expertise.
As a result, you get better keyword sensing, more accurate tagging, sharper lead scoring and tighter sentiment analysis, so your team can be spared from millions of manual interactions.
What is the call to action (CTA) on-site and where have they been in your funnel? By applying conversation intelligence, CallRail’s analytics begin to be action-oriented, not just a plain description. By answering such a variety of questions, the statistics provided can ultimately lead to making money.
