The Sony Xperia 1 III is a good phone on paper, boasting a 120Hz 4K screen, nifty audio technology, and a variable zoom camera in the back. However, all of that technology goes into a phone that is priced well above the $ 1,000 mark.
At $ 1,299, the Xperia 1 III isn’t as expensive as the $ 2,500 Xperia Pro, but it’s not what we’d call cheap. But we really wanted to know what the readers think. To this end, we asked you in a recent survey whether the Sony Xperia 1 III is too expensive. Here is what you told us.
Do you think the Xperia 1 III is too expensive at $ 1,299?

You told us that
- Twizz Twizzed: Here in Sweden it’s lower than S21 Ultra so that’s the price I have to pay. From My OnePlus 6 so more speed crazy good camera and screen will be great.
- Wickets: $ 1299 is a HIGHWAY heist. A) Sony hardly updates the phone. It’s almost a year old in terms of the operating system and especially the price, zero equivalent.
- 23DarkSoulsHunterRoad: Prices should not be compared to storage options instead of the “base model”. Finna gets the iPhone 12 Pro Max 512GB for only $ 1,399.99 or the S21U with 512GB for $ 1,379.99 lol!
That’s it for this poll. Thank you for your votes and comments. If you have any other thoughts on the Xperia 1 III or the results of our survey, please leave a comment below.
