Huawei sold its Honor brand last year when the heat of US sanctions got too big, but it looks like the new independent brand is back on its feet. The first real phones as a result of this agreement will be the Honor 50 series, and we finally have a launch date.
Honor confirmed on Weibo that the new series will be released on June 16, while also posting a video that gives us a tantalizing glimpse into one of the phones. Check it out below.
The video gives us an insight into part of the camera housing and the color scheme. The color scheme looks particularly iridescent and consists of blue with green spots. So if you want to deviate from the usual colors black, gray and rose gold, you should keep these in mind.
The new independent brand has already announced that the Honor 50 series will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 778G processor, which should bring about a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 765G SoC. Honor also previously confirmed that it will launch a new Honor Magic series with the “highest quality Qualcomm chipset” – anything but the Snapdragon 888 SoC. We therefore expect that this series will also be seen at the launch event.
