The Redmi Note 10 5G is coming to India soon, but has a (kind of) new name
TL; DR
- It looks like Xiaomi will be bringing the Redmi Note 10 5G to India soon.
- The phone will likely launch as the Redmi Note 10T 5G.
Xiaomi hosted a global launch for a variety of Redmi Note 10 series devices earlier this year, but a phone hasn’t made it to India yet. Now it looks like the manufacturer is ready to launch this device under a slightly different name.
Amazon India has announced the arrival of a new Xiaomi phone in the region MySmartPrice notice that the header image url contains the Redmi Note 10T 5G name. Check out the URL in the screenshot below.
The Redmi Note 10T 5G was previously launched in Russia, but it’s actually a slightly rebranded Redmi Note 10 5G that was launched around the world earlier this year along with the rest of the Redmi Note 10 series.
That means you get a Dimensity 700 chipset, a 90 Hz LCD screen, a 5,000 mAh battery with an 18 W charge, and a triple rear camera (albeit 48 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP). In other words, you’re essentially paying for 5G connectivity here rather than a mid-range stacked datasheet. But there is still no official word about a 5G network expansion in India. For what it’s worth, the Vanilla 4G model has a 120Hz OLED screen, faster charging, and a more useful secondary camera.
There’s no word on Indian pricing either, but the Vanilla Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 5G had the same global introductory price ($ 200). So it stands to reason that the 5G model and the standard variant could share a similar price in India.
