- Disney Plus has released the first trailer for the second season of The Mandalorian.
- The early look reveals the search for Baby Yoda’s (aka The Child’s) home.
- The new season will premiere on October 30th.
After almost a year of waiting, Disney Plus is finally ready to preview the next season of its most popular show. The streaming service released the first trailer for season two of The Mandalorian, and it says a lot about where the Star Wars show is headed next. Warning: spoilers are ahead so stop reading when you’re determined to keep the story updated.
In the new episodes, Mando will track down The Child (aka Baby Yoda) house, and it is clear that this will not be easy. Among other things, the bounty hunter is expected to provide the Jedi with its young counterpart for handing over power – a dilemma when the Mandalorian people have demonized the group as the “Order of Wizards” who fought against their founder. Imperial remains and the usual criminal elements will also cause problems.
Our hero will have allies by his side, including Cara Dune and Greef Karga. There aren’t many recognizable new characters to be seen (most notably a mysterious Jedi and the Cyclops alien Gore Keresh), but characters like Moff Gideon are expected to play an important role. Rumor has it that characters like Boba Fett are nowhere to be seen, at least for now.

The trailer is also a not-so-subtle reminder that The Mandalorian season 2 premieres on October 30th. There’s a lot going on on this series. With Marvel TV shows like WandaVision and The falcon and the winter soldier Delayed due to the pandemic, Disney Plus doesn’t have as many originals as it expected this fall. It takes The Mandalorian to attract new subscribers, let alone keep the ones that might leave once they run out of back catalog of movies and programs.
