What’s new on HBO Max in January 2021? Well, we’re going to see the start of Warner Bros’ big push into streaming, with the first of its planned 17 theatrical films, also arriving on the streaming service every day. We’re also getting a new original HBO Max movie about how a couple deal with a pandemic, a few new TV shows, and more.

Here’s what’s new on HBO Max this month and what’s leaving the streaming service this month. You can sign up for HBO Max at the link below or get it with your HBO cable subscription at no additional cost. You can also get it for six months for $ 69.99 – 20% off – through January 15, 2021.

The Little Things (January 29th)

Denzel Washington plays the lead role in this crime thriller. He plays Joe “Deke” Deacon, Deputy Sheriff of Kern County, California, who has to go to Los Angeles County to get evidence on a local case. However, he is later recruited by Jim “Jimmy” Baxter, sergeant in the LA Sheriff’s Division played by Rami Malek, to join his own investigation into a serial killer. Jared Leto is also part of the cast as a suspected killer. The film was written and directed by John Lee Hancock, who previously directed The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks and The Founder, among others.

The little things won’t be on HBO Max until 31 days after the fall, before likely returning to service later in 2021.

Closed (TBD January)

Anne Hathaway, who previously starred in an HBO Max Originals film, The Witches (pictured above), is returning in another Max Originals film in January 2021. She plays Linda while Chiwetel Ejiofor plays her friend Paxton. The couple live in London during the current COVID-19 outbreak and do not get along. Then, however, they decide to put their problems aside to attempt a jewelry heist at famous London retailer Harrods. The romantic comedy film, which was shot in London a few months ago, will also feature Ben Stiller, Stephen Merchant, Mindy Kaling and Ben Kingsley. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) wrote the script while Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Edge of Tomorrow) directed.

Tiger (Jan 10th 17)

HBO Max is showing the two-part HBO Sports documentary about the life of Tiger Woods. It will include newly discovered footage and new interviews with one of the most famous athletes of all time. It will show his rise as perhaps the greatest professional golfer to ever play the game, along with his problems with infidelity, drugs, and more.

What’s new on HBO Max in January 2021?

Here is the full list of content added to HBO and HBO Max in January, as well as a list of content retired from service this month. It includes new seasons of the Dramedy Search Party and the reality show Selena + Chef. Older TV shows will also make their on-service debuts, including Gossip Girl, Batman: The Animated Series, Everwood, Person of Interest, and Babylon 5. Finally, remember that the recently retired Wonder Woman 1984 will be leaving the service on January 24th .
