Trucks are big sellers and big cash for automakers, particularly the Detroit Three. But which pickups are the best?

The versatile and sturdy trucks can help you work harder and have more fun. With its sturdy design and great comfort, it’s easy to see why these things have become so popular and replace mid-size sedans as the vehicle of choice in subdivisions and dead ends across the country.

In this sprawling field you will find some of the roadshow crew’s most popular rigs, trucks that we wholeheartedly support. Note that this is not a leaderboard. They are not displayed in a specific order.

Ram 1500

Of all the so-called half-ton trucks, the best one you can currently buy is the one Ram 1500. It has the finest selection of interiors, the largest infotainment screen available (a whopping 12 inches), and a range of powerful engines, including a mild hybrid Hemi V8 and even an EcoDiesel V6 with 480 pound-feet of torque. Not only that, this rig looks good, drives well, and is available with a four-corner air suspension system that makes it drive more like a luxury car than anything that can carry a load of gravel. Regardless of the model, it is difficult to do something wrong with a Ram 1500.

Ford F-150 Raptor

It should be obvious why we love it Ford F-150 Raptor. I mean, no other pickup can bomb the desert like this. With almost 14 inches of travel at the rear and 13 inches at the front, the truck simply eats everything. In addition to its impressive high-speed off-road capability and aggressive design, the Raptor offers a lot of performance. Yes, we all miss the rumbling 6.2-liter V8 of the previous generation, but the EcoBoost six-shooter on this rig isn’t too shabby, delivering 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor offers you a small selection and is available with either a SuperCab or a SuperCrew housing.

Jeep gladiator

If you are looking for an off-road pickup that is a bit more manageable than this Ford, the roadshow crew supports you from the heart Jeeps gladiator. This truck may look little more than a Wrangler Unlimited with a 5-foot steel case welded to the back, but there have been numerous technical changes. For example, the frame is 31 inches longer and the wheelbase has been stretched more than 19 inches. There is also a new five-link suspension system that hangs out the back.

All of this work results in an incredibly powerful medium-sized pickup that can take you and some friends deep into the wild with a huge load of camping gear. If that’s what you like, of course. It’s even more sophisticated on the road than the Wrangler Unlimited on which it is based, and drives better thanks to the longer wheelbase.

Honda Ridgeline

Next up is an excellent all-round option, but it will surely lead to controversy. Some are easy to decipher Honda Ridgelineand called it nothing more than a minivan with a bed on its back. Despite its unibody basics, this is absolutely a pickup for most sensible people.

And thanks to these car-based bones, it drives like an elevated Accord sedan, has a spacious, comfortable interior and features a chock block with clever functions – such as an ingenious double-fold tailgate and a hidden trunk in the bed. In addition, the Ridgeline offers all-wheel drive and can pull up to £ 5,000. No, it’s not as tough as a Silverado 3500, but it has everything that probably 75% of truck buyers actually need.

Ford Super Duty

This Honda may be versatile, but it’s not enough for everyone. Some people drag horse trailers or drag stones from depleted uranium to make a living. These are the people who need more powerful hardware, such as that Ford Super Duty.

This family of hardworking pickups has been carefully upgraded for 2020. New technology has been added, the design has been optimized and the cabins have been updated. Inside, new colors, decorations and high quality materials are offered. However, the most fundamental changes were made under the hood. A brand new 7.3-liter V8 petrol engine is added, which serves as a mid-range offer and delivers 430 hp. Ford’s well-known 6.7-liter power stroke diesel has also been improved. It now delivers 475 horsepower and an incredible torque of 1,050 lb-ft.

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 bison

The Chevrolet Colorado is getting old, but it’s still a solid all-round mid-range truck. Take things to a whole new level, that ZR2 bison Model is an off-road beast and a simple recommendation. Like the Jeep Gladiator, it is perfectly at home when it climbs over rocks and splashes through mud.

This rig is given a raised and reinforced suspension that blocks the differentials at the front and in the back a track that was widened by 3.5 inches, rock rails and even unusual Multimatic dampers. Of course, this truck looks more aggressive than your ordinary Colorado, with unique bumpers, skid plates, and more. An off-road intake snorkel is also available, as are two engines: a 3.6-liter V6 and a high-torque 2.8-liter turbodiesel.
