The best new gaming products from CES 2021
You can usually expect tons of new game products at CES, but this year, with a few notable exceptions, was a little quieter. Whether you’re looking to update your gaming setup or just interested in what the future of gaming has to offer, you should check out our roundup of the best new gaming products and announcements from CES 2021.
AMD 7nm Ryzen 5000
It’s hard to get serious about games without talking about the chips that make it all possible. At AMD, these are the new 7nm Ryzen 5000 processors that are slated to hit laptops and other portable devices later this year.
The Ryzen 5000 series is available in two variants: U-series and H-series. The H-series is aimed at gamers while the U-series is designed for portability. Depending on the model chosen, the new chips should enable higher speeds and better energy management. Expect lots of new gadgets to rock this one in the coming year.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
Nvidia also announced its newest entry-level chip: the GeForce RTX 3060. At just $ 329, the RTX 3060 is the cheapest chip the company has to offer. Throw one of these in your gaming computer and the company claims you’re getting 10x the ray tracing performance you would with the older GeForce GTX 1060. If that’s enough to entice you to upgrade, you’ll have to wait for it to go on sale sometime this February.

HyperX ChargePlay Stand & Alloy Origins 60 keyboard
HyperX announced numerous new hardware at CES 2021. The first of these is the HyperX ChargePlay Duo charging stand for Xbox controllers. The charging stand comes with two 1,400 mAh batteries for Xbox controllers, and you can even charge two at the same time.
Next up we have the HyperX Alloy Origins 60 keyboard. This mechanical keyboard has colorful LED lights that are compatible with the HyperX NGenuity app. The HyperX ChargePlay Duo and Alloy Origins 60 keyboard will be available February 22 and will cost $ 39 and $ 99, respectively.
While the HyperX Pulsefire Haste gaming mouse is technically not a new product, it is also honored here as it is no longer exclusive to the US. It will launch worldwide at CES for $ 49.
Razer Blade 15 and Blade Pro updates
You’ve probably seen Razer’s new face mask concept and crazy gaming chair by now, but that’s not all the company has brought to CES.
Razer also revealed updates to its laptops. The Blade 15 and Blade Pro 17 both get a 1440p QHD display option. Also, you can choose from a variety of chips depending on what you want to do.
Regardless of which model you get, these have Thunderbolt 3 ports and an HDMI 2.1 output that outputs 4K video at 120 fps. While the exact price, number of inputs and outputs, and processing power will all depend on which model you’re running, when looking for a laptop, there are always more options to choose from.
Acer Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 updates
The Acer Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 are not new versions of laptops, but will be updated to include the new Ryzen 5000 series processor mentioned earlier in this article. These computers have consistently received high praise for getting the most bang for your buck, and the latest chipsets likely just make them a more solid option for those on a budget.
Asus TUF Dash F15
Asus also announced a new laptop called the TUF Dash F15 aimed at gamers. It rocks a Thunderbolt 4 port for external GPUs, a display with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, 16 hours of constant video playback, an Intel i7 chip under the hood, and a GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. It has some impressive specs, but unfortunately pricing and availability are yet to be officially announced.
MSI GS76 Raider Dragon Edition
MSI came ready to play at CES 2021. The company announced some updates to existing laptops that are definitely worth checking out, but the one that stole the show is the MSI GS76 Raider Dragon Edition. It has a unique design that looks great without imitating what other companies do. It’s also packed with some solid specs. It has the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card as well as Intel i9 processors. You can pre-order it now for $ 1,499.
Acer updates the Predator series
The Predator Triton 300 SE and Helios 300 have both been updated with the latest Intel 11th generation hardware. In addition, the Helios 300 is given special treatment with the integrated Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU and an impressive screen with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The Triton 300 SE has also been updated to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060.
The Predator Triton 300 SE and Helios 300 will be available in February or March, priced at $ 1,399 and $ 1,249, respectively.
Asus ROG Strix Scar 17
Asus announced three new gaming laptops at CES 2021 this year, but the ROG Strix Scar 17 is definitely the one worth knowing. Together with the AMD 9 Ryzen 5900HX CPU, it has the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, a crazy 64 GB of RAM and an HD screen with a refresh rate of 360 Hz – not to mention the four-speaker setup supports Dolby Atmos .
Asus claims that you can get around 12 hours of constant video playback on just one charge.
Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but it seems like a gaming laptop is worth waiting for when you’re ready to make the investment.
Alienware m15 and m17 R4 updates
While Alienware isn’t technically a brand new announcement for laptops, the update to its G15 gaming laptops m15 and m17 R4 is nonetheless worth mentioning. Both will be updated to include the latest GPUs from the GeForce RTX 30 mobile series. They will support HDMI 2.1 so you can output video at 120 Hz. Both laptops start at $ 2,149 for the base model, but can cost a little more depending on the specs you choose. They’re both configurable with up to 32GB of RAM and either an Intel i7 or i9 core, depending on what your budget looks like.
