The Best 17-inch Laptop Deals from HP, LG, Razer, and More
If you’re the type of person who prefers a bigger screen but feels that the more popular 16-inch sized laptops aren’t enough, then going for a 17-inch laptop makes a lot of sense. Not only is it less bulky than 18-inch laptops, but it also tends to be slightly less expensive, especially with so many of the best laptop brands making their own 17-inch laptops. So, whether you’re aiming for something like HP, LG, Asus, or Gigabyte, you’ll likely find a solid 17-inch laptop that you can snag.
To that end, we’ve gone out and found some of our favorite 17-inch laptop deals out there, including HP laptop deals, Dell laptop deals (and Dell XPS laptop deals), and gaming laptop deals.
HP 17.3-inch laptop — $350, was $650
The list of different models that HP makes is pretty massive, and it always is one of the brands vying for the best laptop title. This 17.3-inch HP isn’t a top-of-the-line model. You’ll find upgrades here and there, particularly on some of those RAM and storage specs meant to give you good laptop work or student work processes throughout the day. Coming in with a super zippy 256GB solid state drive.
We have 8GB RAM and an AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor. Plus it has AMD Radeon Graphics. Now these specs still are closer to the entry-level mark. That being said, it’s still headed in the direction of getting stuff done. Also preinstalled is Windows 11. That way when you sit down with something good to watch, or a current video game and break this sucker out of the box, it’s ready to go.
ASUS TUF A17 gaming laptop — $1,413, was $1,500
If you’re looking for the best-value 17-inch capable laptop for basic gaming, the ASUS TUF A17 is just what you need. You won’t expect amazing performance from it. The AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS inside is a midspec. It’s a great Intel core i5 equivalent for those who have to do work or creativity stuff. The RTX 4060 inside is also good enough and will more than meet the spec to run the FHD144 which this screen is rated at. In fairness, you might even see it go to the 144Hz refresh this panel is rated at. The 16GB DDR5 RAM is also welcome, as a gaming laptop with this price limit doesn’t always give you that.
LG Gram 17-inch laptop — $1,481, was $1,800
A 17-inch footprint makes room for a bulkier, more powerful hardware stack – and the LG Gram packs the goods: 16GB of RAM and a 2TB solid state drive to go with it. Thunderbolt 4 connectivity supports dual 4K monitors, or a single 8K monitor, so specs like these place this machine in the near-professional range – yet this machine is priced for almost anyone with a need for a high-performance laptop. And yet it has a very large, ultra-mobile footprint. It’s as portable as it is desktop-like, a combination that’s not common as of yet.
GIGABYTE AORUS 17 — $1,600, was $1,750
If you’re looking for a great all-round gaming laptop, and won’t pay the premium for any of the big names, this is a great option and helps you get started: here’s the GIGABYTE AORUS 17 with an RTX 4070 in tow, which will have a slight struggle with the 1650p resolution, but especially if you are going to try to get it humming at its truly eye-watering 240 Hz refresh rate. Still, it does leave you the opportunity to lean into the graphics, or lean into the refresh rate if you want to do a spot of competitive gaming here and there. As for the processor, it’s got an Intel i7-13700H, which paired with the 16GB of RAM should power your day-to-day without so much as a hiccup.
MSI Stealth 17 — $3,000, was $3,699
Even though MSI is better known for its motherboards and graphics card variants, it also delivers some cracking gaming laptops, such as the MSI Stealth 17. With an RTX 3080 Ti on the inside, this 2k graphics card can be pushed into some 4k gaming for lower refresh ranges and graphical settings. It will be amazing with an RTX 3080 Ti, but you can also use the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor, which is arguably the most powerful CPU on the market today. The Stealth 17 also comes with 32GB of RAM, so you’ll be getting a smooth experience with it.
ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17-inch gaming laptop — $3,502, was $3,700
Such is the 17-inch dial that twists a quarter turn on the ASUS ROG Strix – a bargain-priced gaming laptop, featuring a bulldozing AMD Risen 9 processor accompanied by a jaw-dropping 32GB of RAM and an even more stage-crashing NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. A huge 2TB of solid-state storage should be enough to store the fattest of the fatties of all the PC games. It is also equipped with the ROG intelligent cooling system to reduce overheating when gaming for too long.
