If you have fond memories of playing Sega Genesis games – and I think everyone who owns the console definitely does – your nostalgia ship has arrived: For a limited time and while supplies last, Amazon has it Sega Genesis Mini retro console for $ 49.99.

Update, May 20: After it sold out quickly yesterday morning, it is available again on Amazon – but with an inventory on May 30th. Would you like it earlier? Best Buy has the console for the same price, and GameStop too.

The Genesis Mini is a standalone system that connects to your TV. It comes with two wired controllers and 42 built-in games. And after all, it’s fantastic.

Unlike the popular Sony PlayStation Classic console, the Genesis Mini has received great reviews – including that of Scott Stein Sega Genesis Mini review. He thought the port quality was excellent and loved recording some classic games that weren’t available elsewhere before.

In the meantime, over 2,300 Amazon buyers have rated the system with 4.7 stars. If you know a graduate who loves retro games, or a father who still longingly speaks of earthworm Jim, this would be a great gift.
