Google has just released the final version of Android 11 for a range of smartphones. The latest major update to its mobile operating system is always celebrated with a statue on the Mountain View campus, and this year is no exception.

Dave Burke, Vice President of Engineering for Android at Google, posted a picture of the Android 11 statue on his Twitter page. Well, something like that. The large “11” statue is shown on the Google campus but is actually not a physical statue. Google allows anyone to view the Android 11 statue in AR.
In a follow-up TweetBurke stated that you can see a virtual version of the statue on your phone on this website. If you tap on the “View in 3D” option, you can see the statue in your current room via augmented reality. The AR statue can only be viewed with Android phones that support ARCore technology. In this AR version, the Android mascot appears in the statue.
As if that wasn’t enough, there is a special secret Easter egg in this AR statue. If you rotate the statue and check the back, you’ll see a list of what’s new in Android 11 that has been “engraved” into one of the numbers. On the stand itself, you can see a recipe for making your own red velvet cake if you turn it aside. Red Velvet Cake is Google’s internal code name for Android 11.
