TL; DR
- Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile, will deliver the CES keynote at the rerun of the 2022 event.
- CES is slated to be a face-to-face event in January.
- As expected, Sievert’s speech should focus on the adoption of 5G and T-Mobile’s advances in this area.
The 2020 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) took place in person in Las Vegas. It was one of the last major tech events before the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing. The 2021 version of the event was a purely virtual affair.
However, the 2022 event is scheduled to take place again in person in Vegas. CTA, the company responsible for CES, just announced that the CEO of T-Mobile will be delivering this year’s CES keynote.

T-Mobile’s CEO is Mike Sievert, who took over after John Legere stepped down. Legere oversaw T-Mobile’s rise from fourth-placed underdog to third-placed powerhouse. He also oversaw the company’s acquisition of Sprint. Sievert was T-Mobile’s COO at these events.
Unsurprisingly, Sievert’s CES keynote speech will focus heavily on 5G rollouts. All available data shows that T-Mobile is the undisputed leader in this regard. If 5G is really the future, as we’ve been hearing for a long time, T-Mobile is likely to climb even higher in the next few years.
CES 2022 will take place from January 5th to 8th, 2022.
