Suunto’s latest fitness watches boast titanium and turn-by-turn navigation
- Suunto has introduced two new fitness watches, the 7 Titanium and the 9 Baro Titanium.
- Both have titanium bezels and turn-by-turn navigation.
- They can be ordered at prices of $ 499 for the 7 Titanium and $ 599 for the 9 Baro Titanium.
Known for fitness smartwatches that are expensive but powerful, Suunto brings that point home with its latest models. The company launched Suunto 7 Titanium (see below) and 9 Baro Titanium (above), watch models that better justify their prices with fresh designs and meaningful feature updates.
Both Suunto watches have a new “minimalist” design with titanium bezels that are lighter without compromising on toughness. You can also expect turn-by-turn navigation from Komoot, which will help you navigate on foot without reaching for your phone.
After that, the upgrades vary greatly. The Wear OS-based Suunto 7 Titanium includes advanced sleep tracking tools (updated to previous 7 watch models) that include new tiles for tracking sleep phases, managing body resources and getting heart rate feedback. The 9 Baro Titanium was developed for tough outdoor use with water, dust and shock resistance in military quality and 170 hours of GPS battery life in a special tour mode – you don’t have to charge every day just to keep the positioning active. Suunto also promotes special instructions.

The technical data are otherwise known. The Suunto 7 Titanium is about everyday use as well as a fitness watch. It combines over 70 sports tracking modes, heart rate sensor, altimeter and 50-meter water resistance with common Wear OS extras such as NFC for Google Pay. The Suunto 9 Baro Titanium was specially developed for sports and has a water resistance of 100 meters, over 80 sport modes and a scratch-resistant sapphire screen.
The Suunto 9 Baro Titanium is available now for $ 599 or the same price as a non-titanium watch. Pre-orders for the 7 Titanium are available before the April 21 shipping date for the same $ 499 as its regular predecessor. These are still not trivial purchases, but the case material upgrade itself is remarkable. Titanium sometimes increases the price of a watch significantly – getting the light, yet strong metal “for free” is a definite bonus that will make your workout a little easier to endure.
