The size of smartphone batteries has only increased in recent years thanks to displays, processors and functions that require more power. We now have devices with an enormous battery capacity of up to a whopping 10,000 mAh. Of course, such phones are still a rare exception, but it’s not difficult to find devices with a battery size close to 5,000 mAh or more. So we decided to do a survey on our website and ask our readers to let us know how big the battery is on their current phone. Here are the results of that survey.

How big is the battery of your smartphone?

Results

In our survey on the size of the smartphone battery, we received a total of 2,244 votes. The results show that the majority of our readers use phones with batteries that do not exceed 5,000 mAh capacity.

In fact, the most popular battery sizes for smartphones among our readers are below the 4,001 mAh to 4,5000 mAh range. 28.7% of respondents in our survey have smartphones with batteries that fall into this range.

The next most common battery capacity range for smartphones is between 3,501 mAh and 4,000 mAh. 19.2% of our readers voted for this category.

17.3% of respondents said that their phones offer batteries between 4,501 mAh and 5,000 mAh. It’s worth noting that most of the Android flagships from 2021 have batteries in this area. Many cheaper phones also offer these large battery sizes, so not everyone who has voted in this category has a flagship up their sleeve.

Meanwhile, 15.1% of our readers are still in phones with batteries from 3,001 mAh to 3,500 mAh. 6.8% of voters manage with even lower battery capacities.

Only 9.6% of those surveyed have devices with batteries over 5,000 mAh.

2.9% of the survey participants said they did not know the battery size of their phones.

Your comments

TheOracle: 4,000mah at the moment. Almost 3 years old and still going strong. Soar to 5,000 mAh in the next month. It’s the first thing I look for in a phone.

EMINEM’s ghostwriter: I have 4,000 mAh and my phone (Mate 10 Pro) is already running for the third time. So far, the battery is still holding up well.

Albin: Headscratcher since my 3,000mAh Moto Z series is 6,000mAh with an attachable Mophie Mod, which can be permanently connected and charged in this way. The biggest battery problem for me is not the daily discharge but extensive photo trips and the extra battery overcomes one of the main limitations of phones for this.

MD. Faraz Ahmad: Among 3000 iPhone users. Over 5,000 Samsung M and F series users.

2Star Hoodlum: OPPO A53. Budget phone, listed as 5,000mAh. A whole day will be easy, but I don’t play games on it.

Bart: iPhone 8 – 1,800 mAh – and lasts all day on battery power.

Pedro: My 5,000 mAh is charged for 28.5 hours, no iPhone even comes close.
