Super Mario Maker 2’s free update adds World Maker mode, Koopalings
Super Mario Maker 2 may have added the Legend of Zelda hero link back in December, but it is April 22 update it’s all about classic Mario elements – like the ability to create your own world maps. You can use them to link up to 40 courses together and essentially create your own old school 2D Mario adventure.
You can choose from themes like “Green Meadow”, “Underground”, “Desert” and “Snow”, create a layout and then add routes, toad houses (so you can force people to play this angry mini-game with picture adjustment) and landscapes . After that, you can put courses you’ve taken on the route and share your masterpiece online.
With the update, you can also add the Koopalings (first seen as bosses in Super Mario Bros. 3) as enemies, along with the key hunter Phanto Super Mario Bros. 2.
It brings a bunch of powerups like the Frog Suit and Super Acorn, but the coolest is the Super Mario Bros. 2 Mushroom. It gives you skills that were unique to this game, so you can casually stand on the back of enemies, pick them up and throw them mercilessly.
Mario is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and March reports suggest that Nintendo is planning to do so Publish remaster versions from classic 3D adventures like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario sunshine to celebrate.
