Summer 2021 Samsung Unpacked event announced
TL; DR
- Samsung has just announced the date of the iteration of Samsung Unpacked in the summer of 2021: August 11, 2021.
- The invitation to the event does not allude so subtly to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
- We also expect the Galaxy Watch 4 to show up but we don’t know about the Galaxy S21 FE.
After weeks of leaks and rumors, we finally have official confirmation from Samsung for the date of the next big launch event. True to the rumors, the event will take place on August 11, 2021. The livestream begins at 10:00 a.m. ET – click here to convert the time zone to your local time zone.
The invitation to the next iteration of Samsung Unpacked is above. As you can see, the slogan “Get ready to unfold” and the geometric shapes clearly allude to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Samsung might as well be broadcasting loud and clear that these devices are sure to hit the market in August 11.
If you’re interested in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung has already opened a reservation page. Early reservations will receive an additional $ 200 credit for their current device and one year of Samsung Care Plus free. There will also be another special offer not mentioned in the cards for pre-orders. Obviously, the price of the phone is still unknown, but Samsung should reveal it at the Unpacked event.
Samsung Unpacked: What else could there be?
The invitation as good as confirms the launch of two foldable products. However, there are a few other Samsung products that are slated to hit the market this year.
It is very likely that we will also see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 at this unpacked event. This also includes the counterpart, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. We expect these smartwatches to feature the new version of Wear OS from Google and Samsung (which still doesn’t have an official name).
It’s also possible – albeit less likely – that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will hit the market on August 11th. We’ve heard a ton of conflicting rumors about this device, so it’s really up in the air right now. If it didn’t land on August 11th, it would likely get its own smaller launch later in the summer or early fall.
