Warning: Spoilers for previous seasons of Stranger Things are coming.
Are strange things I’m coming back for a fourth season, but nobody knows exactly when that will be. The outbreak of the corona virus has interrupted the Netflix hit and so many other shows. But before the pandemic hit, creators Matt and Ross Duffer signed a multi-year film and series contract with Netflix, so viewers ultimately learned more about the double vision that created the upside down.
The first teaser for the new season has creepy music and scary looks at the rotten upside down. This teaser contains the text “We’re no longer in Hawkins” that matches the rumors about the plot (see below) that indicate that the show will explore new settings.
A creepy clock appears in the teaser, which leads to theories that strangers may somehow bend and move through time. (If this happens, can we bring Barb back or save Hopper’s late daughter?)
The basics
Stranger Things fascinated the streaming world when it debuted in 2016. The show takes place in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s and begins with the disappearance of a child named Will Byers. Researchers at the Hawkins National Laboratory have opened the door to the creepy alternative dimension known as upside down and are experimenting with a group of special children, one of whom known as Eleven, escapes and befriends Will’s group.
Part of the charm of the show is the varied young cast that feels like real friends and the nostalgic environment.

Release date, production info
Work on the show appears to have started in late 2019. The occupation joined in February 2020 – only to be sent home in mid-March to seek protection. Star Gaten Matarazzo said in June 2020 These initial hopes of a two-week break spanned months with no end in sight. The teenage actor said he would be “nervous” to film again, but no data were given when this might happen.
Stranger Things fans had long breaks long before the corona virus. There were 15 months between seasons 1 and 2 and 20 months between seasons 2 and 3. Given the delay in work from world health, the expected long break certainly seems to be getting longer.
Not much has been said about the coming season. In November 2019, the show’s authors tweeted a photo of the cover of the first script of season four. The episode is called The Hellfire Club also the name of a super villain group in the X-Men comics.
Cast: Who is who?
The biggest casting question seems to have been answered: a scene in the third season finale mentioning a detained American seemed to indicate that Chief Hopper survived the bleak events of this episode. Hopper then appeared in a fourth season teaser released in February 2020, which was one of the final details of the show before filming was interrupted.
And on Halloween 2019, TVLine reported that the show will add four new male characters, three teenagers, and one adult. The show would not confirm this news, but TVLine’s source says the teenagers are a metalhead, a jock, and a stoner, and that the adult male has “traits that suggest that he is in a certain, distant plot will play an outstanding role. ” by Hawkins. “(Does that mean he’s Russian? We’ll have to wait and see.)
I will probably come back
Action news, rumors and theories
Funnel in Russia
When season three ended, chief Jim Hopper’s (David Harbor) fate looked like a cliffhanger. He appeared to have been dead, but then the audience discovered that an American was being held in a Russian prison where unfortunate inmates were being led to a Demogorgon.
Then, in February, this notice was confirmed. An official teaser Heavily armed Russian guards play in a Russian prison camp, overseeing prisoners who build a railroad through a snowy landscape. Hopper, shaved head and everything appears at the very end of the 45 second clip. We knew he wasn’t really gone – what would the kids and Joyce do without him?
The directors speak
When Matt and Ross Duffer spoke to Entertainment Weekly, Ross Duffer raised the importance of the American in Russian prison, saying that the storyline “will obviously play a major role in a possible fourth season”. (GOOD, DUH!)
His brother Matt points to other cities like Hawkins with creepy laboratories and access to other dimensions. “I think the biggest thing that will happen is that it opens up a bit,” he said. “Not necessarily in terms of size, in terms of special effects, but in terms of allowing storylines outside of Hawkins.” Speaking of moving outside of Hawkins …
Elf as the big evil
Elf, played by Millie Bobby Brown, has been one of the series’ key hero characters from the start. A theory discussed about Reddit says that El could have been infected by the Mind Flayer and used just as the creature manipulated the creepy Billy in Season 3.
Go on
In this final episode of season three, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), her sons and Eleven, who appear to have been taken in by Joyce after Hopper’s possible death, move. Where you go? Joyce, Will, Jonathan and Eleven all have to stay close to the other children and it would be so sad if the group of friends were split between two different school systems.
80s events
We seem to be on the right track for the next 1986 season. In 1986 there were some major pop culture and news events that could well fit into such a show, including the Chernobyl disaster. Could Chernobyl itself be incorporated into the show’s mythology, considering that the Russians were heavily involved in season three? On lighter news, El and Mike might see Pretty in Pink or Top Gun, and Dustin could teach the kids how to walk like an Egyptian.
