Star Wars The Mandalorian casts Deadwood’s Timothy Olyphant
For the next season of the Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian on Disney PlusFans will see a new face in the crowd: Netflix’s Santa Clarita diet Actor Timothy Olyphant, after a Friday report by The Hollywood Reporter.
No official word yet on whether Olyphant will play a well-known Star Wars character or someone who is brand new. But given the talent of Olyphant to play a gunslinger and a cowboy on the TV shows Justified and DeadwoodIt would be great to see him sitting next to the Mandalorian himself (played by Pedro Pascal) as a buddy or maybe even as a new nemesis.
Disney and Lucasfilm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Olyphant will play with other newcomers in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, including Terminator actor Michael Biehn, Luke Cage actor Rosario Dawson and Star Wars movie predecessor actor Temuera Morrison.
New directors will also be available for the next season, including Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) and Peyton Reed (Ant man and the wasp). You will join the director Dave Filoni and show creators Jon Favreau. The next season of The Mandalorian will debut on Disney Plus in October.
